Changing the tridicator gauge in my boiler

This is how I changed the pressure + water temperature gauge (aka tridicator) in my boiler.
A piece of the video got cut out. After I hand-tightened the gauge, I used a wrench to finish tighten it. I gave it two full turns before I could feel it was done.
The whole job cost me $32.

Are you draining the whole system or only small portion of the return pipe?

I can only speak for my system but in my case, I only need to drain the boiler itself. I have 5 zones, each with valves for the feed and return pipes. So I closed all the valves to each zone, the valve for the boiler intake and simply opened the drain valve. This caused the boiler to empty its water and release the pressure. When done, I reversed the steps and made sure all valves were returned to their original state (open) and that the pressure in the system was within the operating range (again, changes depending on system) I’m not a professional so don’t take my steps as instructions for your system. Always consult a pro if you are not familiar with your system
