The inline 6 looks more appealing, also the line 6 is leaps ahead of the v8s that it is gonna replace the 5.7 and the 6.4. Better durablity, better torque and power, better gas mileage.

It’s really a shame that so many companies are still jumping on the EV bandwagon. I’m still not sold on it. I’m all for hybrids and trying to obtain better fuel mileage but with muscle cars like this, it’s just not the demographic. Muscle car guys don’t care if the Model S next to them can beat them. It’s not what it’s about. Cars should evoke an emotion in the driver and I feel like we’re losing touch with that more and more. Hoping for a change to more positive advances in the future though.

Dodge did understand that. From what I understand, they’re trying to give the Charger EV that more visceral experience. That’s literally what the whole presentation on the car was all about. And the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N proves that this is indeed possible, as many have described it to feel a lot more like a traditional ICE hot hatch than an EV SUV. I feel that more ppl should give the EV Charger a chance because at least they’re trying, and a lot of ppl saw that it was an EV and just assumed it was going to be boring and soulless like all the others

Car manufacturers should make cheaper smaller electric commuter vehicles, something that would be great in a city. And for something higher range have a small gas generator that generates electricity so you don’t have to worry about charging. At this current age of tech we are not ready for EV.

The only advantage the new Charger has over its predecessors is more space. But we definitely don’t want AWD in such an American performance car, even if it provides extra traction and even if it has RWD mode because it’s not full-time. The engine is the most obvious. If there are too few, if not no offsets, carbon credits can be bought from other brands such as Tesla but Stellantis decided not to do that anymore. Finally, even the trunk is unwanted because it’s a tailgate which means it’s not a true sedan/coupe anymore, unlike its predecessors. It’s just these that have to be changed, in order to match its predecessors, since they were extremely popular.

@DeiHarper9361 Come on, man. That's a terrible argument. First of all, the base model Hornet starts at $31,400. Second, every car company had an increase in prices during all of this inflation. What was the starting price for Kia, Nissan, Handa, Toyota, etc, years ago? No where near what they are now. Yet their customers are still paying for them. Last but not least, you don't have to pay 60+k for a scat pack. You do have to pay that amount or higher for one with way more options. To be clear, that's the case with every other car brand. Back to what I said, Dodge's so-called fans want more for less. Well, get in line because most people in the middle to lower class feel the same way. It just seems like other car brand fans are much more reasonable with reality and expectations. As opposed to blaming Dodge for changing things they could not control.

Honestly I prefer this compared to what they showed with the fake exhaust. There are a couple of different ways to create the sound of a V8 without the engine, but it doesn't appear that they will go down any of them. I'll take the exhaust note of the I6 over what they showed.

I think 95% of people like the looks! They just hate it cuz its an EV. The design is terrific I think and looks very good doing down the road. There is an on off switch for the exhaust as they stated before. Its like line lock, you can turn it on if you want to use it by default it will be quiet. Its unfortunate that the US Gov and EPA has forced automakers to do this and go the EV route. Dodge stayed true to their roots mostly by doing NO EVs and staying with big V8s but once Biden got in office they knew it was only a matter of time. Thats at least why FORD came out with the Mustand mach E so they could offset emissions and also got rid of all their sedans. Smart move but unless we change whos in charge in the GOV, EVs will be here to stay until they realize what we already know and thats that they arent ready to be mainstream and we dont have the grid to support them all.

I can almost guarantee you that someone, somewhere is already mapping out a Hemi swap into a Hurricane version of this car. Yeah, yeah, yeah……the Hurricane numbers are impressive. But it’s an extremely complex engine that is going to have some major teething problems. And let’s face it. A turbocharged 6 cylinder just doesn’t sound like a good old American V8. Besides with the government wanting to put more self driving related crap like the AEB on cars, it’s going to take the fun out of driving anyway.

Btw the exhaust is not a speaker its actually air going thru ducts so its more like a tuba then a speaker so props to attempting to innovate EV's.
