Chase buying the Apple card is like buying toxic waste. Apple has zero cause to renegotiate terms with Chase. What does Chase think they could do that GS couldn't. And does Chase really want to get into the subprime market? Even if they did want to get into the subprime market, there are better ways. Absolute insanity, unless GS guarantees repayment for charge off for x years. Even then it would start burning Chase's hands after x years.

As a Hawaiian flyer, I grabbed the Alaska card earlier this year at an elevated offer with the BoA tier bonus, gambling for the other direction. Super pleased I can now move the bonus and earn over to Hawaiian to actually use on Hawaiian flights. Christmas? Likely! 👻

JPM will not offer generous terms like GS to avoid multi-billion in losses. JPM will get this gig at a favorable discount and drop a bunch of C and D-rated cardholders. JPM will not make the same mistakes as GS.

Hertz is usually the most expensive choice. President circle is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a winner. Other times, the choices aren't even standard size that you paid for - they gotta put whatever they got in the president circle stalls.

Usually I always go Hertz pr Enterprise, luckily I've never had bad experiences with either. I went cheap one time in Denver and booked with Fox rent a Car, never again.

I am in a similar situation. I have some app subscriptions charged to the Apple card on my wife's iPhone because I have since switched to a Samsung phone. However, it is my second-oldest credit history, and I would hate to lose that credit benefit. I just put my Apple card back into my wallet several days ago just use it a little more just to show the activity of usage.

i redeemed Alaska miles last year for a biz flight on JAL from ORD to HND. We are eager to get back but haven't found any deals as good as what we got on Alaska. with the merger we can rack up Alaska miles quicker and hopefully find ourselves back in Asia sooner.

I don't know if it's just bad luck, but I've rented from Hertz a few times, from a couple different airports and never saw anything fancy. I only ever see Chevys, Dodges, and Nissans. Not bad cars, but far from a BMW or a Mercedes.

Apple Card benefits are bad, so consumer base is going to be subprime. Not just a low purchase price for the debt is needed, but a needed concession by Apple for swipe fees and benefits. If it’s not agreed in premise, deal will fall through. As Apple fights everyone for bottom line, feel this deal may not happen.
