(And also the poise damage, noone needs to respect your offense with the weapon.) I honestly think that other weapons should have their poise damage tuned down instead of this one being buffed so I don’t need to pick between bull goats tree sentinel or the solitude armor for pvp builds.

Shattered stone talisman affects the kicks in both the movesets, and theres also the divine bird warrior greaves to increase kicks further, definitely enough stuff there to maybe do a dedicated build. Jump attacks also are kicks so could throw in the claw talisman.

Just noticed during this video that while you are charging the palm blast, you actually get a poise buff icon under your health showing that it's not just hyper armor, but actually fully boosting your poise higher. noticed it specifically at 15:41 Edit: Turns out that it's actually a defensive boost +25% to all damage negation while it's charging and releasing. The actual charging is, in fact, just regular hyper armor after all lol

I wanted to add because you didnt use it at all but if you put footwork in one hand and dryleaf in the other you get full access to the kick moveset and the l1 does the dryleaf dual wield r1 moveset. Pretty versatile for mixups

Didn't see you mention it, but uncharged palm blast gives a true combo into R1 or offhand L1. You can get 900-1200 damage off of trades this way, depending on your offhand weapon.

Palm blast is sooooo fun. Most people do not respect the insane damage and hyper armor that move has and they find out real quick. I’ve been invading at the final dungeon and blasting people off the edge with it. Dryleaf arts are such a fun addition to the game. The jumping heavy does good damage and has quite a bit of distance.

Technically there is one more ash of war for hand to hand fighting since it's usable on all melee armaments but is perfect for danes footwork. Rot flower blooms twice art of war is a total anime attack that builds up rot in your enemy and it's a jump attack into a homing dropkick at your enemy.

For the jumping heavys you can boost them by a lot by using the divine bird warrior greaves, the claw talisman, the rapors black feathers (gravebird blackquill armor) as well as the Shattered stone talisman. They all buff jumping heavy attacks on the martial arts so that they do a lot more damage than normal. The greaves and the shattered stonw talisman also bosst the poison flower blooms twice ash of war which I personally find very fun.

My personal favorite is Dane's Footwork poison infused with the poison flower blooms twice ash of war. Looks sick and deals quite respectable damage when you hit them with the ash while theyre poisoned.

Not really. It does allow you to have the 2handed moves set of the first as your L1 and the 1handed kicks as your R1 though, which can creat so fun mix ups.

Sorry, not girrst but fist. I have both set to cold and same level of upgrades, so they should have the same scaling. But one, the kicks, has a better symmetry with the kick talisman. Which makes me thick you are probably correct.

‘I am Chase, Fist of Bros and you shall know de feet!’ These things are brutal on a multi-hit build cold infused. They tend to proc frostbite easily in one to two combos - that’s when the whirlwind AoW shows its true worth. The frostbite stun makes the lack of poise damage less bothersome. Palm blast is sick tho. There’s probably some worth to be had in the 1H moveset with offhand incantations or perfumes. 1H heavy combo into offhand perfume as a roll catch seems plausible. I also enjoyed powerstancing both weapons one fire one cold infused for more mixups. Very fun weapon type. Catch ya next time!

The best part about the new hand to hand weapons are the mixups! It's like a boss battle, honestly, you're the boss. Start unarmed, soft swap to a stronger weapon, then hard swap to a weapon with a finisher, like the Sword of Damnation. I"ve had crazy fun invasions with that.

In Sekiro I felt that Senpou attacks were about building up posture quick while giving you an alternative to doge an punish sweeps, here in Elden Ring they're just an afterthought. They'd need to buff posture dmg to give them a place here.

I played with this a little bit recently. Realized if you have one in each hand, like most dual wielded weapons, you get the L1 power stance combo. Unfortunately, it's not a cool new move set. Rather, it just uses the move set of one of them. I'm not sure if it matters which hand you have it in, if it changes the move sets, but when i tried it out, the L1 combos were the dryleaf arts move set. Maybe if you switch them, you'd get the Dane's Footwork move set. I feel like if you practiced, you'd have a good arsenal of mix-ups. You could swap between punches and kicks, the palm blast, dryleaf whirlwind, and the one-handed R2s while power stancing both or the normal R2s while dual wielding either one. Also, blinkbolt and poison flower blooms twice, say usable on all melee armaments, but i haven't tried to see if they work for hand-to-hand "weapons." If they did that would be even more mix-ups, on top of which the flower blooms twice is technically a kick. As always chase, another fun build video to watch.👍

That last fellow you fought was likely a fellow invader using a taunters tongue as he beat the dlc. Thats how I got my pvp without invading myself during the DLC. I get addicted to invading and then never woulda beat the DLC.
