Wallpaper removal is the worst! Very slow tedious process. You’re doing an excellent job. Once you get the vinyl layer off, soak the paper again and let it sit 10 minutes. It will scrape off much easier than using the steamer. Once the paper is all removed, you still have to make sure all the glue is washed off the wall. It’s a pain in the butt. Good luck.

I think you have the best process figured out for the wallpaper. I put the warm water with fabric softener in a sprayer, score the wallpaper and let the solution soak in for more than a half hour. As you see the steamer then works better. Those furry rascals are doing so much damage but they certainly look like they are enjoying life!!

You really need to consider cutting down and removing all trees and bushes around the moat. You can plant again however you will never get rid of all the problems caused by the roots until you do this. It’s not the ideal situation but you bought all the problems when you took over the Chateau. It will grow back.

Phil, I live in a very rainy Canadian city! We have catch basins everywhere and they get clogged with leaves constantly. Our city actually has a program where you can "adopt" a catch basin, and clear the leaves to prevent flooding. Not as cool as your moat though! I regularly go out and clear four or five. My husband and I moved into an old house here in America and we had to take eight layers of wallpaper off of the walls and every room. We didn't have as many rooms as you we only had four downstairs and four upstairs but it was definitely daunting. We took the perforator roller and perforated the wallpaper then sprayed it down with the vinegar and baking soda really well we soaked it and then we waited about 15-20 minutes and went in and started scraping and it was so much easier. But I'm sure you've probably already tried that baking soda and vinegar mixture but definitely soak those walls after you perforate it

Animals in captivity escape on their own or did some unscrupulous breeder accidentally leave doors open so they wouldn't have to feed them because they were not profitable anymore as people stopped buying fur is the unasked question. If everyone who has the problem fed them contraceptive laced food in a few years the issue would solve itself humanely.

Sorry, the only suggestion I can give about the wallpaper... put on some music, have a drink &/or cigar and just keep at it. I do have a suggestion for the colours in the room. When I think about designing something - I first decide on a colour that I like and look at what's beside that colour, or across from it on the wheel. I look at complimentary colours, opposite colours. Decide what level of colour light or darker and stick with those colours (what I mean by that is don't choose colours that are not in harmony with the colour) hope that make sense,. Usually, only 3 colours per room. Think of an imaginary triangle and see if those colours strike your fancy. It's all up to personal taste. But, I will say if you chose 3 colours they should be in harmony ie: the adjoining rooms can be done in the same colours but you can switch it up by making the main colour in the main room the 3rd or accent colour in the adjoining room next, and the 2nd colour in the first room can be the main colour in the 2nd room with the 3rd colour in the first room can be the accent or 2nd colour in the 2nd room. The internet has many ideas for colour combinations and concepts for using the colour wheel. It can also give you colour concepts. I hope I explained this in a way that is understandable and that this is helpful to you. If you are dead stuck pick something in the room that will have all the colours you would like in the room. Maybe the colour of the fireplace, a picture that will be in the room that you like or even a pillow cover or bedspread. I may be telling you what you already know but this has always worked for me even when I'm not inspired. Good luck room main room adjoining room 2nd adjoining main colour colour 1 colour 2 colour 3 secondary colour colour 2 colour 3 colour 1 accent colour colour 3 colour 1 colour 2 I'll be watching
