she said there is no audio support.But I found that the 2GB version seems to be slightly different, they wrote: _”support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio bitstreaming, the card is also interesting for HTPCs”_ ... but I don't know exactly what that means, I hope it can help. Cheers !

Hi Morgonaut and All, can anyone confirm if the gt710 works on a Mac Pro(5,1) with boot screen so that users can choose the startup disk with the option key or does it need to be flashed to get boot screen? I have read that the gt710 and gt730 are plug and play for Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur with Yosemite/El Capitan requiring nvidia drivers, but it does not mention whether the boot screen is missing? Can someone please confirm :) Thank you.

At least with MP 4.1 (early 2009; MP 5.1 differs only on the CPU sockets, otherwise same motherboard) and ElCap, no boot screen. Also, had to install the NVidia web drivers before got any picture through it. But after that it has been working well :) (my card is MSI GT 710 2GD3H LP GeForce GT710 2048 Mt)

But I also need to make it work with El Capitan and Mavericks (audio software), but I not get graphics acceleration (web drivers installed, but I cannot activate the option to use Nvidia web drivers, it always booted up with Mac OS driver option...) Hi, very interesting video. I'm new to Hackintosh and have always run Linux. Just fell for MacOS and it installed beautifully on my Asus Z87-K with Intel i7-4770k. The big drawback however is that i cannot get 2 displays to work. With the Intel HD4600 iGPU, when the second monitor is connected the box reboots automatically. Been working on this issue and can't ge4t it solved. Last resort would be a dGPU so i wachted your video. Very good, thanks for it. What i just want to know, by using the Asus GT710-1-SL, does it support dual monitors (1080p), 1 on DVI and 1 on HDMI? Thank you for your response!

Hi there , you seem to know quite a lot about video cards I've got a Mac Pro 4,1 DUAL QUAD and I put a PC Quadro 5000 in(2nd Lane) next to the ATI 5770 (1st Lane) and obviously it doesn't boot screen but the ATI does so all good there, but the problem I have is that I can only get 1920 X 1080 60hz NTSC it can do 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz but it doesn't give me that option I am coming out of display port on the Quadro to a dvi convertor which then goes to a normal HDMI connector on the monitor which is a AOC AG322QCX is it because the card only has 2.5 gb do I need a newer model with more video ram?

Is that the boot screen that shows up at 4 minutes into your video ? That's the card I want ... the cheapest metal supported card that will show the boot screen when I hold the "alt" key as my mac chimes. If I have to reflash the video card bios so be it. There are plenty of cards that work but can't display that boot screen. People want the one that shows that boot screen that comes up when you hold the "alt" key. Thanks -

@@MorgonautHackintosh I guess the answer is no it's not the boot screen and you might not be sure the answer to my question ... otherwise you would have said where to get the bios to flash to the graphics card in your video. The goal isn't just a cheap video card that gets you to the login screen... it's the cheapest one that still shows the 'apple boot screen" in a real MacPro (not hack) so you can select which disk to boot from. ... I'm not sure where your "second mac related channel" is off this KZbin page ... if you let me know I'll go post the question there if you want. Nice channel btw ... good stuff :)

I was trying to do this on A real macpro 5,1 with a GT 720 ... and the boot screen doesn't show up. The login screen shows up in 20 seconds ... but again I can't select what disk I boot from. Ok I guess the answer is to find one of these "ASUS GT 710 cards" ... you don't happen to have the model from the box to share without getting in trouble ?

I am using 5,1 and have high sierra on a mac pro early 2009. is this graphics card metal supported? will it work properly on Catalina as in does it support graphics acceleration which Catalina recommends? 3.The problem is i have x2 Apple LED Cinema monitors but these model monitors has mini display port connectors and this card doesn't have them as inputs. Can you recommend any adapters or solution please? can this card run two monitors together? i know these are a lot of questions but i really need your help and you seem to have all the answers :) Thanks Again!

Very good channel. I have hackintosh on my PC which I have windows and Catalina on different discs. In windows I have a sound blaster x sound card, in hackintos the audio recognizes me in a way native my asus strix b450 board. But if I connect the sound card it doesn't recognize the audio, I already probe with drivers and nothing- I would like to know if there is any way to disable the pci express in Catalina so that I can recognize the board audio. Many thanks for this! I've been struggling upgrading my High Sierra hac for several weeks now and decided to grab a gt710. I have the z370 and the i7 8700 too, but... although the 3 screens are active during install of Mojave, as soon as it boots in one screen goes blank. I'm guessing this is from something I still have that made High Sierra work with my old GT640, but that now I have the GT710 it's not needed but is stopping my third screen from working! Any idea where I should look? There aren't any obvious kexts referring to nvidia cards? Many thanks and well done on your channel! Very refreshing and helpful!

I got a gt 730 2gb card and it works, even shows a boot screen in open core but it definitely lags from time to time. It seems like the first time I click on a menu in the finder, there is a 2 second lag before it opens. If I click on it again, it is instant. I am working with a classic mac pro. The weirdest part is that I just put the card in my 4x PCIe slot and it seems to be much faster than the 16x. Bizarre. Follow up: I put it in the second 16x slot and it seems to be working fine now, maybe it wasn't seated right or something.

Helllo Tereza, I have a build from your recommendation i9 9900k + Gigabyte Z390 Designare. I currently have Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 Pulse installed. Running on Catalina with Opencore.
