I love that you showed the reality of adding new members to the family. I'm sorry that it wasn't all the rainbows and roses that social media promises, but I'm glad that I'm not alone. The newest doggy member of my family finally drove me to seek training and I've had to separate them when I'm not at home, which I never thought I'd have to do. But I'm glad that I have three, and I'm not giving any of them up! They all have a home here, it's just a matter of figuring out how to live with each other and when to compromise.

I want to get a second dog as a companion for my 13yo mini pinscher. He is nearly blind but quite active and doesn't do well on his own anymore. I will have to be extra careful choosing the new dog as I would hate to have to give it back (rescue obvs). Being thinking about it so much, I'm nearly loopy.
@lisamartin33462 жыл бұрын
@@catrionagarde4410 Maybe you can bring your dog to the shelter to see if he takes a shine to one of the other dogs. I think you’ll have a good outcome then. 🤞
@catrionagarde44102 жыл бұрын
@@lisamartin3346 Yes that's the plan as well. Hes nice to most female dogs but apparently sometimes it's a whole different story when the new dog is in their home. That's when the jealousy may start. I really need a shelter that let's me do day trips and maybe take the doggo for a weekend.

I literally choked on my coffee when you added the basil into your soup, because I said, "that's alot", at the exact same time as you did. I love soup, I'm going to try that recipe, thankyou for sharing. Hugs and well wishes to Bori, she's adorable.

I'm glad your family was able to work out the dog situation. That was nice of your brother to step in and stay at your place. I had 2 dogs that got along most of the time but I could never leave them alone when I left the house. One had to be crated or someone had to be home. Each one moved out with my 2 daughters so everyone is happy now.

It’s so interesting to hear everyone’s stories. Before I got a second dog, I seriously thought most dogs just get along - another sign that social media warps our perception of reality!! Thank you for sharing ❤

I never comment on KZbin videos but I just wanted to tell you that you’re definitely not alone as far as your experience with adding a second dog. I had a very similar experience my 2 girls when we added our second dog after having just one for several years. Eventually they got to the point where they were fine 99% of the time but would randomly try to murder each other about 1-2 times a year. We had to learn to try to identify their triggers as much as possible but sometimes they would just go at each other out of nowhere. While doing some research about this issue I came across something that said that this is much more common between 2 female dogs than 2 male or male female. We lost our first dog in January this year (for reasons totally unrelated to the fighting, she was just old) so I’m down to one now and plan to keep it that way. Hopefully Bori and Nari can learn to get along. It can be a really stressful issue and dog fights can be horrible to witness, so I just wanted to say I feel for you 💗

We got a dog that was re-homed with us, the original owner clearly neglected, malnourished, and generally scared her. She was terrified of my son and myself who looked enough like the previous owner apparently(dark hair), after a vet appointment and getting fixed it was clear that she couldn't get past being scared of us. Our first dog even would go over and try to get her to play and come out of the corner in the bathroom. Treats, kind words, nothing worked, she was fine for my husband and daughters just skittish but would come out of the bathroom corner. We had to find a new home for her. It was heartbreaking but the right thing to do. The new owners were fair haired and they had two very young children. This pup thrived!❤️ It was so difficult to say goodbye and we were all crying more just knowing she must have really been abused (very small mixed breed doggy). Her back legs are still a little underdevelop but she is very happy and that's all that matters. ❤️

Good morning Rose😊✌️❤️. Re:. Adding another family. My dog MooMoo is close to 13 and I adopted her when she was 4 months old. In January 2017 I adopted a cat (Bella who is now 14, from the same person). For close to 3 months, I had to put a baby gate in front of the bathroom door and kept the door closed for about a month. The bathroom was where Bella stayed during this time. I knew it was time to remove the gate a month and a half later. I had come home from work one morning and looked in the bathroom and started laughing. Both Moo and Bella were in the bathroom at the gate and Moo was wagging her tail, they were fine😊❤️. 5 years later and it's still going well. They do have their moments but are ok.

i was in a low spot and this video helped me get my life back on track, by doing easy meal prep so i can eat healthy vegetables and protein. at times we can all relate to Rose's tiredness, but i think the message is that even if you're tired and feeling lazy making healthy food doesn't have to been complicated and you can do a lot with not much time and this applies also to other life tasks like cleaning living space and getting physical exercise. and yes it took me a little longer than rose, but because i meal prepped my refigerator is stocked and i don't have to think as much about what im eating next, and i can focus on other things that need my attention.

We always separate in the home (baby gates, xpens, etc) from our own dogs when we foster no matter how “friendly” it’s best for decompression and not pressuring the dogs together. Some dogs never got along with our dogs, other times they start playing. That is why rescue guidance is very important. I hope it gets better. Might consider a trainer like you mentioned.

So true about the pets! When I brought my kitten home to my 2 year old cat I thought it would be a little smoother. My cat went into hiding, wasn’t eating, stopped cleaning herself. It was soooooo stressful. They are actually super cuddly now, they sleep in a cat puddle and groom each other etc. but for a solid 3 months it was touch and go.

I got my second dog in February. My dogs fought a lot in the beginning. They still fight off and on, but it is more civil now. It was just a lot of supervised playing and paying attention to the dogs body language. Separating them if playing got a bit too energetic. Still not perfect, but much better. Good luck.

Part 1 I recently rescued a Beagle. 10-13-22. The vet said her face looks 2 , but her tarter on her back teeth look 3. Idk o guess she’s 2& a half? She had hookworms, got treated. Has early stage heart worms , so she starts that treatment in January. … as well as getting spayed. Apparently, getting spayed during heat cycle can cause excessive bleeding.

I'm an expert in forcing myself not to sleep. Last year I worked Sundays at 4pm so when I went out on Saturdays (in my country we get beck home at 6am or 14pm if we go to an after part lol) so I'd just have an energy drink, go to work and come back at 11pm and then pass out. Not healthy but it's my power lol

It's not a training thing. My ex had a male and female dog and I had a male. Twain, his male dog decided that I was his human within a couple days of meeting me. When I moved in and brought my dog, we did the meet out at a park thing, etc., but Twain wasn't happy. The problem with "jealousy" is the dog thinks they are the boss or pack leader. I had to let Twain know that's now how it works. He even tried to prevent the female dog that he'd been around for years not be near me. He would growl if they came near me while I was sitting on the couch, etc. Every time, I disciplined him. He stopped growling after a few days, but then he would just do body language that made the other dogs shy away, so I would tell him no and tap him on his head (he was laying on floor in front of me). I had to do this over a couple months and let him know I was the leader/boss. The 2 males got into a few fights out in the back yard, but Twain was pitbull mix and other male was a husky, so no damage to each other, thankfully. My ex couldn't break them up, but I could just by going up to them and yell loudly. They all decided I was the pack leader and would listen to me over him. Over about 3-4 months, they integrated, but it did take constant vigilance by me to make sure Twain got the message that he couldn't try to control the other dogs being around me, I was the boss. It takes close watch of their body language and a lot of that is the reaction of the other dogs. I was always Twain's human, in a sense, but there were no more fights and in fact, the 2 males became best buds and played constantly. I didn't agree with all of the Dog Whisperer things, but he is right about 1 thing. You, or 1 human in the mix, has to be the pack leader. I've had dogs all my life and it's something I've always noticed. Dogs that have separation anxiety or jealousy, things like that, tend to think they're the leader and own the humans and they are not able to be happy dogs when they are trying to control things. That's my opinion and over 50 years of life around multiple dog households. I hope it helps you. 💜 Oh, and another thing that's a good way to get their attention to you, is to snap your fingers when you want to tell them something. No yelling (except at a loud fight they're having), just snap, tap, firm no.
@Julia-dr4g0n2 жыл бұрын
Oh, I wanted to note that I've seen your videos of when you took Nari out and when she was running off leash and you would call her, she would turn and look at you pretty much immediately. I believe she sees you as leader, so you may not have trouble with them, but one of your parents has to be the leader in their house when you're not there. 😉

@rebeccal.6722 жыл бұрын
Hope you are over your jet lag and are better able to function. I understand about jet lag it sucks and if you add cooties on top i was so done. I got up enough to eat and feed my rabbit at the time and basically crawled back in bed. Sorry the dogs decided that fighting was the answer while you were away. I hope they are ok now. Maybe because your dog was so sadly mistreated in Korea that she decided to pick fights. I hope she can get along next time you travel.

Your dogs live in separate houses and therefore do not see each other as siblings, maybe friends at most. The situation is too complicated for it to understand. It’s not good to keep dogs that don’t live together for that long.
@nonavailable40002 жыл бұрын
My advice to you Rose about the dogs !! : is don't push it , and accept it as it is , Nari is simply not welling to share her favourite matriarch status with another female of her specie !! , no forceful human prospective trainer / no nothing !!! , it is what it is , and you have to accept it , no amount of training could guarantee you that they won't kill each other when you guys are not not around , or even when you turn your backs on them for few minutes ... if you force your parent's dog to submit to the trainer , then she most likely will lose part of her vibrant confident soul and become a mere shell of what she used to be !! and that means less happy or even a sad submissive dog who wont live live as long as she could because of the stress & fear hormones

I commend vegans really I do personally I've tried my gut just cannot handle it but I can do one meatless sometimes I manage two meatless meals a day I just can't digest all the veggies and usually you end up with a lot of carbs nope not my gut I have constipation from it super gas pain I have to go with high fat and protein low carb and fiber but a mainly bean meal I can get by with somehow especially certain ones and black eyed peas but admittedly I have cornbread with them with does contain an egg and dairy but hey it's better than beef and egg alone right I just look at vegan diets and feel pain IBS is an absolute nightmare and lifetime of figuring out what makes your body go nuts or just go
