I developed severe food allergy resulting in anaphylactic shock to bovine meats ( beef, pork, venison, any meat from a split-hoofed animal) 20 years ago. It was difficult for a long time navigating restaurants, social gatherings and travel, not to mention cooking for my family and separating my meal from theirs. Poultry and fish substituted in my recipes. Now that I've listened to your KZbin content for the past few weeks, I am incorporating your advice into my attempt to wean from meds for Hashimoto's that was diagnosed 10 years ago. I have the greatest confidence, and can easily adjust to the diet change because of past experience. My PCP doctor had a little hissy fit when I told him my plan, but he got over it.

The hardest part for me is the constant chopping of vegetables. It is so time consuming. I can buy them chopped at the grocery store, but that is much more expensive. I think that is why I have often gone back to processed foods when I am stressed. Convenience. I need to fight my bad habits every day.

When people stay at our home I always ask what they like to eat, need, etc….(all our friends and family are carnivores) so they don’t feel deprived. I’m going to my sisters house and she said “ I don’t know what you’re going to eat here”. Dang, could have at least ask me if anything she could get. Good thing I love her and I know how to travel with my own food.

❤Dr. Goldner you are an amazing woman. You have helped so many I really want to learn more about the raw to cooked ratio, being that Chef Aj is more cooked plant based, and you are more raw. I am confused as to what the best approach to amount of cooked veggies to raw veggies. I love my veggies best cooked and see it work for many but i see the most benefits of healing in those who eat all or mostly raw. Dr. Lisle says it doesn’t matter, you say it does?? Please help. I love both i am vegan but have a hard time going fully raw but if it healed me i think i could do it. Thank you Chef Aj and Dr Goldner ❤ For all your hardwork and dedication it is a true gift

Your stage of life and the seasons both play a role here (along with other things like your genetics + basic constitution.) As you get older you become more “vata” and feel more balanced with cooked food. In the summer I eat more fresh uncooked produce, and in the winter, more soups and stews.😉

Food is so much more expensive here in southern Western Australia that the prices quoted here. Chia for example is over $6 pound. And fresh veggies I’m looking at $3.50 for 3 small baby ok chop. I would, and do, eat the whole lot as a portion and that’s not big. Impossible for those on low incomes when feeding a family of four or more. Frozen pineapple and mango: $6 a pound. And kale $4:50 for a bag which Brooke would put into one smoothie. Even a single banana is not far short of a dollar. Most people needing the program are living on government disability allowance: large smooothie everyday is so out of reach with these prices. 😢

My case is a bit different. I have something going on in my system that I am trying to figure out. My last A1C two months ago was 5.7 which is prediabetes. I am working on that bc I have symptoms that r pointing towards bs issues. I’ve been doing proteins and vegetables since June. I started drinking green juice the weeks ago. Today I added flaxseeds. Kale, spinach, half green apple. Never ever knew I’d ever b in this position. I’ve always been healthy and well. Which me luck everyone.

If you find that Dr. Goldner is speaking too fast for you to follow (like me), you can slow down the video by clicking on the gear icon (bottom right on your computer) and changing the playback speed to 0.75 or 0.5. Once i adjusted the playback speed, it was much easier for me to keep up with the content instead of missing important points and having to go back and try to find the missing pieces. Sometimes I like to take notes while watching certain videos and that's impossible when someone is talking a mile a minute. Cheers!

This is so well explained food is my drug, comfort and addiction. Even though I know better the comittment to plant based is hard for me because I lovvvvveeeeee❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ meat!!!!!! 🤤. I can live off salad and meat for the rest of my life. But what she says about healing and putting healthy food in your body that being vegetables does make sense. So I need a way to be strong enough to not eat meat 😭

I started eating WFPB almost 6 months ago. It hasn't been perfect and I've had a few medical setbacks, but overall I'm very grateful to have found this way. The hardest part for me has actually been giving up my tv shows about food, especially The Great British Baking show, which I watched religiously. I've always been a baker/foodie and now that I'm not eating that way, there's no point in watching those shows. I had to find a new hobby, which has mainly been watching YT videos on WFPB eating. 😁

Health setbacks csn happen in vegan diets. Meat is curative, especially for autoimmune, diabetes. Plants contain oxolates and lectins that worsen inflammation.

I am so happy to see this comment. I went on whpb in August and very slowly started to feel worse. I’ve been vegetarian for 30 years and vegan since 2012, but ate both junk and healthy foods. I dropped junk and right now am having psoriasis all over my face, the very first time in my life - around my mouth and eyes. I always had genetic psoriasis on my scalp but controlled it by not eating dairy, but with whpb it went all wonky. At the beginning I “lost” arthritis in one foot but now it is back. My scalp is flaky. When I went in September to visit my daughter in USA I ate food at airports, on planes and when with family drank wine, coffee, ate burritos from Taco Bell and quickly improved with my health. I came back home to my perfect diet and it was worse again. All in all I am worse now than I was before whob and hope it will go away and I will achieve what I expected - better health.

I have low kidney function... the only advice my GP gave me was ..3 years ago... was... don't let it get any lower. As if I had a magic wand. So I visited a dietician after I decided to go vegetarian. If I was going to do this I wanted to do it right. She was the one to tell me I was also pre diabetic. I immediately lost 25 lbs. Most of which was fluid. My kidney function improved to low normal . I feel good. But I still struggle with too much sugar kr sweets in my diet and drinking enough fluids. But still a big improvement. Love the talk
