The folly shields arent really a rule, more of a suggestion. they TRY to stop you from moving into check, but if you just keep trying to do it then the game will let you. This is important because pieces dont move every turn, so you can stand your ground a little longer

... uh no. They will capture you if the move is legal. However, you can make risky plays that might kill the checking piece and survive when the game thinks you will die.

You can move into check without dying (if you get an extra turn for example) even though the shields tell you you cant. You just have to “burn” them and then move
