Laura I wish you lived near me! I think it would be so fun to look through your fabric stash while sipping some tea together. I started quilting about a year ago with my grandmothers help, but since she isn't local I often use your videos for tips/tricks. I'm a true scrappy quilter with a ton of respect for your talent, you do an amazing job turning simple designs or fabrics into gorgeous quilts. Thank you so very much for all of the inspiration and knowledge, I hope to keep passing the tradition along for many years while adding some of my own unique twists!! xoxo

Thanks so much for this tutorial! This is my first „real“ quilt, I just finished it yesterday. I started it in November, now it‘s May. I made it Queen Size and made it for a friend, who is very fond of everything yellow in colour. Mine is 34 different fabrics, about 1/4 in yellows, the rest I picked blacks, whites, and greys. The backing is a yellow flannell, with a row of solid black and off white. My friend is very happy with it, she got it as a surprise on Mother‘s Day. I learned so much by doing it, and I feel a lot more confident for the next project. The actual quilting was a bit of a challenge in my Home Sewing machine, due to the size, but absolutely worth the effort.Looks great in her room.

This is the best tutorial I’ve found on youtube...and believe me I’ve watched ALOT! You explained the steps I such a simple way without dragging on and on which made it so much easier to follow along. After watching this video I don’t feel so discouraged about quilting, I’m actually very inspired to start making my own quilts. I’ve been wanting to make my daughters their very own personalized quilts but had no idea how to even go about it. I found the whole process so intimidating. But I’ve gained the confidence I was looking for. Thank u so much ✂️

@dianesaienni10814 жыл бұрын
The hardest part of this 97:20ish) is matching the seams when you sew them together, so be exact in your cutting and sewing. It also helps to pin in the seam on the top 1/4 inch exactly and make sure that pin hits the seam underneth exactly 1/4 inch in then place it. It takes time getting used to but if you sew exact all other seams should match up as you sew. Learned this the hard way doing a lone star.

I just finished a chevron quilt. It was a QAYG and it was awful to do. The chevrons didn't match up, so I called it a scrappy quilt. But I really wanted to finish it because it was a gift for my daughter and her new husband. With each sewn strip I said a prayer for them. There were a few Lord let me finish this prayers too. This is so much easier. Thank you I might need to try this again.

Gorgeous! Sounds easy, but it still imitates me. I think that I will give it a try with a hot pack cover. I assume the width of the strips can be different, as long as it is consistent for that project. Peace.
