Sounds good. I love that as soon as the video started I recognised the legend himself operating the dyno

350Hp at 6800 and 317 tq at 4900. Headers are 1-7/8 long tubes for 2014 silverado with 5.3 V8. I removed one primary.

Made a good bit more with the Webers didn't it. Same exhaust manifold in this dyno run as the one with Webers?
@MrNeildrake

@@Selmerpilot it did, however the webers still made 337 hp with this combo. I ran the same long tube headers as well.

@@MrNeildrake Good stuff I see! I am actually trying to make a Weber 48IDF manifold for this Maserati Merak engine I have, know anyone who might be able to knock one out similar to yours? or if you're interested please let me know. Best - J

@@Selmerpilot a good start would be to buy the weber flanges (can be found on ebay) and see how close the ports on the head will line up. I chose the IDA mostly because the throats are spaced wider and lined up with the cylinder head better than IDF. My job was made a bit easier because the head flanges were off-the-shelf from ICT Billet (I used 8cyl ones and cut off one cyl). You would have to dimension/draw up those flanges to have machined or cut. Then it's just a painstaking time of connect the dots with the IDF and head flanges using tubing. For runners, I used 0.120" wall 5052 aluminum. It's easier to bend/beat than 6061 and still welds well.

Awesome. Great to see development of this engine. Always loved the all aluminum Nascar v6 engines. LV3 might not be far off

Thanks. The Texas Speed 660 spring kit you sold me was still keeping valvetrain in control at 7200. Help me find another short block and I'll make a 5.0l version.

@@MrNeildrake Yes, I saw that one. The LV1 lacks the variable valve timing and the MDS, so I was curious about that difference. I still love your 6-bbl intake that you made.

I’ve built one of each LV1 and LV3. The rotating assemblies and heads are identical. The LV1 is a bit cheaper to hot rod because it has non-dod “LS7” lifters already. For boost and big power, the LV3 might be better because it has piston oil squirters where LV1 does not. Both are VVT but I eliminated that and just run an LS3 style single bolt cam sprocket.

@@MrNeildrake One more quick question. Would an LT-style bellhousing work with these engines? It could make finding adapters or transmissions that fit much easier. Thanks for the responses.
@MrNeildrake

Bell housing pattern is identical to LT and LS v8s. I have a T5 going behind this engine using standard sbc bell housing.

One question why did the oil pressure went from 92 pounds to 70 when the engine was sill climbing up in the rpms
@MrNeildrake
@MrNeildrake Жыл бұрын
The Moroso oil pan that I used has no windage tray/scraper plus it’s only about 5-6 quart. Good eye, we’re probably getting oil aeration at high rpm.
