Nice design on that Chevy. Looks an easy and simple fix. I especially like the metal clips, instead of some cheap plastic clips. That you're bound to break off doing a repair like this.

Thanks for the video my 16 year old grandson got it done in about 20 minutes five minutes of that was trying to find a tools that he lost in the garage 3 minutes was probably cuz I wasn't holding the trouble light in the right spot and he was complaining he couldn't see video was great headed out to do now to save all the trouble light

Now this I really like! I've had dealings with bad window motors, that is a predominant problem on lots of cars and trucks! And I thank you for the instruction and Enlightenment. You guys do this well and you are very calm. I've found the patience is the critical factor but knowledge sure makes the job flow well! I have to wonder for a 30min to a one hour job, what a mechanic's labor charge would be. $50 to $100 would seem fair but it sounds like really easy money to most of us. Great Video!

I'm glad you made this video b/c the front passenger side window motor is starting to go out on my 2000 GMC Jimmy Diamond Edition. It works most of the time but I think there's a dead spot in the motor circuits where it just won't go until I hold the button & bang on the door panel at the same time.

Another brilliant video. I find those plastic clips to be the biggest problem. I often break one first before I know how they attach! With a video like this, the biggest problem is solved. By the way, I'm seeing somebody who subscribes must have it out for you, since there's always one early-voted dislike. I don't 'get' why somebody would make the effort to do that. Stuff like that is the product of a small mind....

@elantra11 you might need to check them all because on some car like mine when the passengers side switch is disconnected the window on the passenger side will not go up or down so from the driver side controls so i would get out a volt meter and then check the switches and then check if you are getting power to the motor and the switches -Ricky

I tried to roll down my window in the winter time and the glass was frozen. The glass disconnected from inside the door, and would no longer roll down. A few days ago, it slid down half way into the door and I was able to roll it up a bit, but not down without putting pressure. Today, it actually slipped all the way into the door (didn't break) but the motor just runs and sounds a bit crunchy, but no glass coming up. Guess it's time to take all the panels off and see what's up! Thank you for the helpful video to see how it all comes apart!

Do have to replace window regulatory when it is only the window motor not working? They do sell the motor without the regulatory for my Colorado.

Great video. Small question - what if window (passenger door on 99 Malibu) sometimes doesn`t go down (from both door` switches) but after some driving works fine as usual ? Which connection or what I should check ?

Do u have to take the regulator off to just change the motor on it?..oh can you take the motor off while the metal is still in the door?... because my window is all the way down locked into the thing

After you take the door panel off, you can lift the window from the inside, you might need some help, holding the window up, then you can use duct tape to hold the window up, but be careful. Try not to brake the glass, if it falls down in the track, you'll be replacing the window! Hope this helps.

Well.....that was disappointing! Granted, the VIDEO was fine, but it's heading claimed replacing the MOTOR! That was a video on replacing the whole assembly. Sometimes the motor works fine and all you need is a new regulator. They do sell them that way for a reason. I wasted my time and I'm still looking for a video showing just the motor removal of the working motor off of the broken regulator (the simple part) and installation of it onto the new regulator. There's some spring tension involved and I don't want to cause a problem before I even get started. I thought there might be a trick or a "beware" situation to look out for. It might have to be a trial and error process.
