we should take some lessons from this situation. because it's really difficult to find any humanity these days even when we aren't at war. we should learn how to be together. we should acknowledge the differences but not dwell on them. show someone respect and the largest part of time you will receive it back. i have seen this in my life in dealing with people of different race, religion or anything else. learn to spread the love, don't withhold it.

Absolute love this comment. Differences should be embraced, it's what makes us beautiful and what makes our life experiences so amazing. They're ALL different, as are we, and we should 100% learn to embrace that. I couldn't agree more, GREAT comment!

"24. December 1914: Late on Christmas Eve, the British Expeditionary Force heard the German troops singing Christmas carols in the trenches opposite and saw lanterns and small Christmas trees along the trenches. Messages were shouted to each other between the trenches. The next day, British and German soldiers met and exchanged gifts, took photos and some even played soccer. It was a rare but magical moment of peace and harmony in the midst of one of the most gruesome events of the 20th century. "

This Song is defenetly bittersweet and underlines this Part of History, a desperate grasp for Humanity in dark Times, perfectly. Lovely greetings from Germany and I hope to sing 'Stille Nacht' will grant us a peacful Moment every Time.

Yeah, it's gotta be awkward. Everyone coming together then you notice the body of your friend in the snow and the guy that possibly shot him awkwardly notices what you're looking at and asks if you want help burying him, or maybe helping you carry the body back to your own line. And your enemy is helping you, but the tension in that moment...

As the casual observer here, I love the fact you wear your mask; it makes us focus on the pure expression of your eyes alone. That element actually makes your reactions more genuine feeling and real. I will post a quote for you from a German pilot caught in no man's land at the same time. His account offers something you only see in someone's eyes, just as we have watching you. Horrido. I went down late in the day on the 24th, struck in the engine I could not press on. My crate nosed over into shell hole, I came to much later. I could do nothing but hide, the madness of no-mans land reigns terror on those caught in it. Darkness fell, and an eternity lay before me as I plotted my way out. But something happened that night, a soul deafening silence fell upon the front, followed soon by a single voice in song. Not believing what I was hearing, I peered over the mangled wings covering my hole. I saw a single man, standing above the trenches, hands behind his back, singing as though his humanity depended on it. It filled me with a chill the night and snow could not give. Then more of his comrades stood to join him, and they walked onward, slowly and un-armed. I heard a heavy Scottish voice say; "Are ye a'right lad?". A highlander with his pipes was standing aside my hole, his hand extended. Without a thought, I responded: "Shaken, but not dead." "It's Christmas, Lad. C'mon." I stood, and took his hand for help from the hole. Around me I saw what could be described as a wonderous occasion. Men of all sides stood in the desolation, talking in what tongues they knew as though there was no war. There was no hate, no blood, no malice, only cordial respect and humanity. I wondered then, what we were fighting these men for. It struck me then, that each of us had a job to do, but tonight we all refused to do that job and simply be human. The voices rose again in song, and the piper played as we walked to the gathering. I couldn't help but feel that there was hope for us afterall, that we are all the same, no matter our uniforms, our rifles, or our futures. Tonight is Christmas, tonight we sing. -Manfred von Schreiber.

Chief, the only people in the world that DON'T feel somber and sad about wars are the rich world leaders who have never EVER seen their own son/daughter slaughtered on the battle field to line their own pockets with millions of dollars. You're one of my favorite reactors, btw! Thank ..you for another great reaction...🌹 🌟💫💛

For me it is chills and tears every time I listen to this song. I imagine the feelings of all those men.. a couple of hours a bit of happiness? and peace but knowing the next day they have to kill one another.....brrrrr! And mankind still hasn't learned lessons from all those wars....terrible! I hoped you recognised Floor and you did!😍 The music during the credits is by Antti Martikainen, a Finnish composer of epic soundtracks with all kinds folk, medieval, electronic and metal elements. Could you please react to "Lords of Iron", my favorite?? Thanks in advance haha. Have a good Sunday!

I voted but honestly, I'd love it if you could do Into the Fire or Union: Slopes of St. Benedict. This song, I really love because of the ambiguity of it. There are moments in this music video that are kind of comical even though one avoids laughing because of the subject matter, and the fact that after the football match they go right back to blowing the living hell out of each other. They really didn't pull any punches with this one. By the way, does it remind you at all of spaghetti Westerns? The piano intro and the end make me think of The Ecstasy of Gold from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. (In case you don't know this song, you should probably react to it because it will probably blow you away.) So uh... a little off-topic here... What kind of Chief are you, exactly? Chief of Boat? Indian Chief? Chief Petty Officer? Warchief? Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force?

You really didn't recognize Floor's voice when you heard it? I even gave you a hint in the comments of your 'Sabaton - Sparta' reaction, remember? 😄 Anyway, love this song and the video! I'm going to see them in Amsterdam next year. I bought myself, my husband and both my sons tickets for that show as a Christmas present. We all love them. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Whenever I watch this video I always think “Don’t hurt Floor’s husband! They have kids!” Hehe And of course Floor’s vocals are lovely. Hard to really say if this is a beautiful or horrific story. That’s war for you. I haven’t gotten to see Sabaton, both shows they played near me in Canada were sold out.
