We are builders. A couple of years ago when grey was at its peak our painter was late to the next new job. He was wrapping up a previous project. He said this sweet widow had him paint her entire interior of her home grey. A month later she asked our painter back. She had him repaint her home walls yellow. She said for the first time in her life she was really struggling with depression while living with gray walls. I totally understood. At the same time we had added some yellow into our home after completely rebuilding due to a house fire. We had been through a lot and the yellow helped during that time. 💛

I totally agree with you on the state of the world and all that is happening. In fact, I have found myself feeling guilty for escaping into beauty and life style videos. Then. I realized, its ok to escape. Thank you for always being there to help with that. You are gorgeous inside and out. Who could not love and respect you? Keep your long hair! Love it!

Tammy, keep the blonde. It looks Devine on you and keep it long…you are very lucky to be able to carry it off (the long hair). So many of my friends have gone grey during this apocalypse….and they look so much older. I am going to get my hair coloured and highlighted every 4-5 weeks until I cannot make it there any longer. No offence to anyone who has let the ‘greys’ come….I think Tammy looks fabulous with that mane of blonde hair. Elaine xx

There's no doubt about it, grey hair does make you look "older." The most important thing to consider is how you feel when you look in the mirror and what makes YOU happy.

When you were explaining about your intergram channels I had to laugh because one year when I was holidaying in a foreign country a guy in a store came up to me and said, in broken English, I think you are beautiful.... when you were younger!!! - talk about a backhanded compliment. I took it for what it was worth so so funny. So good to have you back. Take care.

I understand completely in regard to what is going on and feeling down. My husband and I are walking 3 to 4x a week to relieve the stress. Sometimes I just feel helpless. I pray for this country everyday. I will say I was delighted to see you dropped a video today. You always make me smile. You distract me with humor and kindness. The hair… I love it and do what you want. I’m growing my chemo hair out and I debate weekly on whether to color it. It’s several shades of blonde with some grey sprinkled in. Thank you again for bringing brightness into my day!

I look forward to your videos. I understand what you are saying about what’s happening in the world. I used to watch the news every morning, but have not watched for a few weeks. Every now and again I will watch the news and then stop. I live in Illinois, it’s been warmer than usual. Maybe in a week or two it will get cooler. It does get cooler at night which I love. Thank you for doing your videos, they are so uplifting.

Wow, I love that you aren't worried about showing the world that you have a 'grey halo'. You really suit the blonde (long) hair, and it looks so natural, I personally think you should keep it that way unless of course, it starts to damage your beautiful hair if you have to keep touching it up but you will look beautiful no matter what colour your hair is. I live in the UK and at the moment our autumn (fall) in northwest England is chilly and wet. Summer is the season for me, always.🌞

I'm with you on the gray bedding. I never went with the "gray" trend a few years ago and now it's not even trendy anymore! I went with a natural, linen color for my bedding and I mix it with taupe, beige or camel and love it! It also looks better with darker wood, if you have that. On the subject of going all gray - I'm 75 and do NOT have the coloring or the texture to go gray. Also, if I did, I would need to still go to my stylist and make it look smooth. My hair looks a lot healthier when I get it colored. Also, I look much younger, anyway, so I will continue to cover it!🥰

I think silver hair has become fashionable since the pandemic hit us and forced us to remain isolated, meaning (in my case) I couldn’t go to get my hair dyed at the hair salon. My friends hav divided opinions, but the majority hav stopped dyeing and most hav grown a beautiful silvery short hair. Others hav intertwined dark hair w/white hair, and the result is equally beautiful. As it’s known, it all depends in the care u take of ur hair. So I’m still considering the change, meantime, yesterday I dyed my hair again...

I have long hair as well, and grew my salt and pepper hair out the last couple of years. I am so glad I did. I figured I could always color it again if I didn’t Like it. It has been fun to tweak some of my makeup and clothing to suit my new look. My hair is now many colors without the hassle of coloring it. Enjoy whatever you chose. I did wear mine up a lot while growing it out so it wouldn’t tempt me as often to color it. I also got my hair painted to blend the demarcation line which helped the most.

HI, this is an idea I have had for a long while regarding my grey/platform hair. Bayalage has been in for quite a while now for all colors of hair but I have not seen an older woman with grey hair with the bayalage technique (I guess because everything is geared for the young,). I think it could be very pretty. It would allow your grey hair to blend with the chosen blonde color while the grey is growing. It would not not look like the grey hair band we have when our roots grow in.. in other words no line of that severe demarcation.. Maybe call your hairdresser and see what she says. But, of course FINDING the right hairdresser is key. Yes, this world we live in now is unsettling and I have worried about our future here in the USA. Take care. Tricia in Florida

Can't wait for you to reach 200,000 subscribers. It is such a BIG number. I remember when that number was about 75,000. I think that's when I joined you. I have been growing out my silver hair since Feb 2020 just before Covid hit. Then all the salons were closed, so i had to let it grow. My hair was a very golden brown. Now after a year-1/2, the silver reaches the nape of my neck, mixed with some charcoal underneith. My pony tail is still golden brown and about 14" long [mid back) I love it and have no intention of cutting it off. The only negative is I had cancer treatment that made huge areas of my hair shed. Our carpet looked like we had a dog. My hair was everywhere and i had to wear a cap to cook in. Luckily that shedding stopped in March 2021 and I am pampering my new hair as it grows in. I also noticed that my makeup choices are different now. I gravitate to mauve/plum and cool brown shadows and pink lips and cheeks .Very flattering with the silver/charcoal hair. Keep in mind that I'm 77 not nearly as young as you.But I do try to select youthful clothing and makeup styles. Good luck in whatever direction your journey takes you.

I imagine you've already thought of this. But just in case what I do when the Gray starts showing at the hairline is to wear a wide stretchy headband up to the forehead. I have one in white, black and navy. They are very comfortable with elastic at the base of the neck. I feel it's more attractive than the Halo lol. It just buys me a couple days until I can color again. My grandmother colored her hair until she was about 75. Once she went gray it was so shocking for me, I felt it made her look a lot older.

I went gray about 3 years ago and did it naturally ( I am a brunette and usually cut my hair in a bob or as long as shoulder length) As my roots kept getting longer I did not cut it shorter than chin length. I must say it was the best decision I have made. Very liberating and I would not go back to dying. Not sure why you are against at least giving your hair a good trim. Hair will grow back. You might feel differently about cutting it shorter as you start greying. It's a new chapter in our lives. Let's embrace it. Just my humble opinion.

Hey Tammy! My halo has to be done every two weeks! I do my roots myself. I’m licensed so I stock up at salon centric and all I use is a tablespoon of solution to 1 tablespoon color…just my roots and brows. Even at 67 I can’t take it,! My hair is medium brown and my roots come in white! Ugh! If I don’t do them it kinda depresses me! This is why women go gray….such an upkeep! You look beautiful either way! I have very long hair too and constantly conditioning it. We are high maintenance! But I can’t give up! Enjoyed as always! Love and hugs❤️💐

I am 68 and my hair grows very fast so I too, chase the “halo”. But I will not give up coloring my hair. I only do my roots about every 3 months and the rest of the time I use a temporary color on my roots. Just like with too light of a concealer aging the eyes, my light white/ silver hair around my face ages my face. For me it’s no big deal to color my hair. Autumn is starting here in Montana! Yahoo! I appreciate your honesty with the “halo.” I just finished my two year journey transitioning to natural white/gray and I’m glad I did. My hair takes so little time now and has terrific shine & condition. It’s a big decision and one of the silver (pun intended 😜) linings from this pandemic is it made it a little easier with not being out & about all the time. Gave me time to get used to my appearance and not have to hear & see a ton of other reactions and comments. My husband was also supportive and that can make a big difference too.

You are simply beautiful Tammy! Fall right now for me, in Indiana, is starting to cool off. HOORAY!! Leaves are just beginning to change. That is my most favorite thing about Fall. The vibrant leaves. My father has lived in Florida for the last several years and really misses the fall colors. He says now he considers the out of state license plates as the fall colors ☺️

I have to tell you I went gray last year and I don't regret it but I was ready and I chopped it all off. I didn't have the patience to wait it out. It is only now almost at the length that I had it originally and my hair has never felt softer since I stopped coloring. Good luck:)

Tammy, I am 18 months into transitioning to silver/grey…. I never thought I would ever do it, nor did anyone else… lol… best thing I ever did… my hair is getting so much healthier and fuller… hardly any shedding like before!… it is a personal choice, and I believe women can be so jealous and catty of and to each other, during this journey… I think you would look gorgeous in any color you chose, ….it is very awkward for the first 9 months, but, your beauty will surpass that awkward stage!…good luck with your decision, and enjoy the journey if you so choose!!!!💜💜💜💜💜

Tammy, Like you, I love everything about fall! My favorite time of the year!!! I have a daughter in the Ocala area. They just love it! Don’t know where you are, but they do get some cooler weather…. They came from the Cocoa and Cocoa Beach area. It did have some cooler weather as well and did get into the 40s at night in the winter months… so they can wear some fall clothes occasionally . I like more season definition. But I enjoy staying with them some during the winter months. I’m in North Carolina. We definitely have that! A little too cold in the winter at times, but we also have some warm times as well, which frustrates me. You are absolutely beautiful! I share in your frustration about the halo. I am 63 blonde as well and not ready to go gray So I still color about every six weeks and use a spray Root Coverup in between. Really enjoyed your video today, so I am a new subscriber! I will look forward to your next video. God Bless you and gave a great day!

I have never been so happy to see fall! It's been a very hot summer in Boise, Idaho. We are high desert so very low humidity absolutely nothing like Florida. We are lucky we do have all 4 seasons which I prefer. The trees are just starting to change colors in yellows but in a few weeks we shall see blaze orange and reds.🍂🍁

My hair is the same, As soon as soon I dye it the gray hair appears. So what I do is baby lites will camouflage it. I do it all in front hairline and it won’t be so noticeable.

I was craving normalcy again and you my dear have given a bit of that to me. Thank you! I am waiting for that first good cool crisp fall morning!! Lol. And, girl, I’m afraid I will be one of those women who dyes her hair until she is physically unable to do so! Lol. 🤗💝. Have a wonderful week!!

Absolutely!!! My hair is about four inches shorter than yours, I just turned 73 and my roots are about 4/5” of Snow White hair showing through my light blonde hair. I’m with you, I’m on the fence. Don’t know if I want to be all white( I don’t think so, but I’m sick of coloring it every three weeks because it grows so fast). I’m a recent widow. I spent many years in Clearwater, Florida throughout my life, so I understand the heat and humidity. However, I’ve spent forty years in North Louisiana and let me just say this……. The heat and humidity is much worse here than in Florida! It’s just horrific. That’s another reason I let my roots grow out this summer. I keep washing the color out because my scalp get so wet from the humidity. Ugh!

My mother is 89 and still has her hair coloured. She says she’s too young to have grey hair lol. She also never, ever leaves the house without full make up and dressed smartly. She has always been particular with her grooming. She gets compliments all the time. Oh and she’s not had any Botox, filler or anything at all and even though her face is lined she looks fantastic.

Tammy you’re gorgeous no matter what your hair color. I’m just throwing this out if you want to look into it… I take 1 capsule of the amino acid Tyrosine a day- has many benefits. Tyrosine is used to make melanin, which gives your hair its natural color- ❤️

I LOVE your long hair, you gorgeous kind lovely woman. I can totally understand taking a step back. I have plans at the end of this coming week to completely retreat and replenish. As a physician, a mom, and a caring human being, I have been deeply disturbed by everything going on in the world. I need to take a break from being of service and giving everything to others. I have let myself become depleted and that’s just not ok. I try to lead by example and I’ve been remiss in this area. Wishing everyone well and above all be kind please 🙏🏻

I went with gray back during Covid. Coloring every 10 days wasn’t gonna cut it for me. My mom was also in hospice at home and I was helping take care of her so just had to go with it. I have been told lucky it is more silver w/ dark gray with black even in the very back. Stylist even said hair is very shiny for being gray. So I say go ahead and go gray. If totally dislike always cover it. Look amazing either way.

I live in New Jersey so it’s getting quite cooler. I love the Fall for the beautiful colors. I don’t like the cold. I’m cold all the time & my girlfriend is always hot. It makes sharing an apartment difficult some times. I had to give up coloring my hair. Within two weeks I had regrowth. No matter what I used to color the regrowth it looked terrible. I just let my hair grow out. I’ve never looked back. I think you can look just as young with grey hair. That’s all up to you & what you’re willing to do to your hair. Grey is nice for some people but not for me. I’m too affected by color. Grey makes me feel depressed. I hope you’ll find a hairdresser in Florida. I read that you should find someone who’s hair you like & ask them where they get their hair done. Bisous, Lucy

I too am not ready to go grey so I will continue to color. I’ve done my own for years when just touching up roots. It’s quite easy when you find the right shade to blend with the rest of your hair. If I want low lights, i head to my hairdresser. Have you considered using the root sprays to use around the halo and part areas?

Tammy. I am in my 60s and have been using makeup since I was 14. I would sit for hours in front of the mirror trying to mimic Twiggy's look, or Cheryl Tiegs' look or Jean Shrimpton. SO I do think I know something about makeup and what looks flattering, what looks aging, etc. Your observations and tips are so perfect! The lipliner tip is brilliant! You're beautiful, indeed look so much like Rita Hayworth, and I'd say keep the blonde. My hair is about 25% gray. More so near my face but I'll continue the blonde. My complexion is much too warm to look good in gray. It's horrible upkeep, but there ya go. I too have blue GREEN veins, love my peaches so gray isn't for me. Now if you are someone who has that black hair and it's grayed? WOW Very pretty. Oh and I loved your remark about gray. I'm slowly replacing my gray walls. They are a warm grays but gray gray gray... I'm tired of.

Thank you for explaining about doodles. They are so popular now but then people do not know how much time they require and grooming and they are not dogs to be left out alone. In Texas there are so many doodles dumped because people got them without knowing what they requires. Standard poodles are being used for nothing but breeding to supply these dogs. I have five rescues and I love them all but they are work.
