Wonderful young lady. Amazing ballade, the coda still need a bit work but as one understand codas of Chopin`s Ballades are the most difficult even for genious pianists. Only few could touch the heaven. Plays with true feeling and knows what is the piece about. Nocturne is fine, in the first episode the right hand may be a bit more singing.

It seems to me that Michelle has star quality. The standard of musicianship in this competition is sky high, such that all the contestants have excellent technique combined with a high level of interpretive ability. Having to decide which pianists are best must pose quite a problem for the judges. Michelle's technique is dazzling; add to this a performance replete with emotional depth and maturity, and even amongst the most fierce competition imaginable, for me she stands out. If she doesn't become a highly successful concert pianist, there's something very wrong with the world...

She did make it to third stage in 2021. In 2015 she made it to stage two, sadly still didn’t make it to finals.

The Etude in A minor is not bad. However, it's a bit too slow and the balance between the chromatics and the melodic line in left hand is not quite right. The chromatics are too soft. Comparing to the other candidate, you need to work really hard. bravo to you.

+Felix Hins You are quite professional. Can you tell me what happen to make Minsoo Hong unqualified? Please

+toolatetobeapianist Thank You for asking my opinion. Honestly, I may not have such qualification to judge or give comments to his playing. I am not professional, I'm just a music lover who plays the piano. All the pianist who can join or confident to join this world-wide competition is better than my playing skills. I just heard Minsoo Hong playing the Etude in A-minor, it is good. First of all, there is a few wrong notes which is quite noticeable and I don't believe this kind of competition will accept wrong notes for more than one times. Second, it is too rush and too loud at all. It feels very very nervous after he played the wrong notes. Chopin's pieces should sounds relax and definitely not rush. Therefore, he created a wrong atmosphere in the Etude in A-minor, the winterwind. It is just my opinion, and he is a very good pianist.

+fc18101849 That's going WAY too far to compare her to Martha. She is beautiful in all ways and talented. The only similarity I see that she has with Martha is her HAIR. That said, she has a ton of potential.

Reading another comment made by you in which you state you did your best to play the 2nd Saint Saens concerto and still wasn't selected explains your bitterness towards pianists, especially those with great technique. Was your technique not good enough? Do you consider yourself musical, but with scarce technical means? Regarding this particular comment, you lose crefibility by stating she has 'no feel for Chopin'. Such categorical statements disclose pathos, rather than truth. Maybe she isn't subtle enough for your tastes, but this doesn't mean she has no feel for Chopin. Also, she was nineteen. The human mind changes, matures, so such a rough comment is not enitrely justified.
