good video, chris is underutilized cause he's articulate which i enjoy in this kind of thing. i like to know the rationale behind adding each ingredient, what flavor it brings, why its this kind of flour or whatever and not the other, what happens to it throughout cooking, how its interacting with other stuff, etc. chris does this well

Yes, you summarized why I always liked Chris' quiet intense instruction. He brings a lot more to the 'why' of each process and makes the video more interesting versus entertaining for a Brad video. Now and again he has a relateable gripe that makes me feel better that I'm not as great of a cook as these BA folks. Also loved learning new things like "carapace" in his lobster video.

You should be watching America's Test Kitchen, not the hippy, immature play kitchen of Bon Apetite. These kids are so not professionals. I guarantee their parents bribed BA into hiring them. Can't stand young, know-it-alls pretend to be experts. Shame on BA for stooping this low and hiring inexperienced, unprofessional kids to run their channel. I’ve found that the easiest way for me to quickly remove thyme and rosemary from the stems is to thread the base of the stem through a mesh strainer and pulling it through the bottom until it punches all the leaves off :)

Made these for my whole dorm floor and they liked them! They were savory and you can definitely taste the chocolate! At first it was hard to get the feel of when they were done but once you get into it you’re flying! I did use less coconut oil and upped the chocolate. Didn’t have the ingredients to make the crunchy topping and that’s what this needed. One of the girls on my floor almost cried she was so happy! She has a gluten allergy and she loved these.

I have my parents wedding present waffle iron (1945?). Seasoned after 78yrs of use. All metal, built like tank, still makes 4 full-sized beautiful waffles every time. A very elegant appliance. Will have to give this recipe a try! Thanks

Dear Chris, my dream is to make Morning Cupcakes. Cake - Rolled oats, banana, salt, honey, water, butter, vanilla extract, dried fruit. Buttercream - Rice pudding as buttercream frosting (don't even know if that's possible but would be groundbreaking to actually make rice pudding behave as frosting) Toppings - cinnamon dust and pieces of sorted nuts. please change the ingredients, just wishing to use all breakfast-y ingredients styled as a cupcake.

The whole buckwheat is the only thing that I'm not sure I could find at any ol supermarket. And for that, I'd just have to go to the health food store or supermarket with a bigger health aisle. :) When I bought "fancy flour" like spelt or buckwheat, flax seeds etc. for the first time a few years ago, I didn't think I'd use it much. But since, I've found many recipes and use them a lot. I think it's great that they sometimes introduce us to rather unusual ingredients. :)

i made this for breakfast today. it's delicious and goes so well with coffee. i do not like anything coconut so i replaced it with butter. and my parents are diabetic so i subbed out the sugar for 1 small mashed banana and concentrated stevia powder (~ 1/8th tsp)

Square waffles are where it’s at. My grandma made waffles every weekend for all the grandkids. It was the first “appliance” my grandparents purchased when they got married ~ 70 years ago. This iron is still in my family it needs a new cord but I’m gonna try and get it fixed.
