Listen bro, the first step in fixing any issue is seeing a problem, then creating a plan to combat the issue, and following through to see results. You’re headed in the right direction and the body is highly mailable. Keep taking steps to be healthier, but don’t do it in a way that you aren’t happy with where you’re currently at. Enjoy every step along the way, because it truly is about the journey and not the end result. I spent 4-5 years getting a shredded physique, and life didn’t get any better. It’s about the journey and good health, that’s really it.

as someone who has recovered from an ed & cut out sugar for months now, i can most definitely confirm this video true! when i had my ed, sugar was practically a drug to me that i got my daily dopamine fix with, but i would never feel good afterwards. i always felt weak, tired, irritable & depressed. that is when i decided to cut out sugar to improve my diet to overcome my ed & it worked miracles for me both physically & mentally. the way chris explained the timeline of how your body reacts without sugar overtime is exactly how it was for me. my cravings died down like never before & i never thought it would be possible, but i was able to control myself & no longer craved the dopamine fix that came from cookies, cake etc. my workouts also got better & better & i am able to sleep perfectly every night. but of course, i will have added sugar here & there IN MODERATION & know when i've had enough, as i know how it will make me feel if i overconsume it. the only thing i cannot relate to is the skin part & this is solely because my acne is based on my genetics & hormones so no amount of sugar i limit will help, unfortunately. however, i have seen it work wonders in plenty of other people's skin before! so is it worth it to cut out sugar? absolutely. you can still live your life & enjoy sweet treats, you will just be more mindful & know what other alternatives there are & it will overall help you in the long run! good luck guys!

when I found out I'm prediabetic, I had to change the way I eat *fast* because I literally cannot afford to be diabetic in the usa. If you're just starting your journey to cutting back on sugar, substitutions will work best to help you start the switch. I went from drinking mostly soda all day every day to only water using a no carb additive flavoring to my water (I love crystal light but there are many to choose from). I now drink 10-16 cups (8 fl oz) of water per day. Sugar free candy helped as well, but be careful and keep your portions small as most sugar substitutes cause gastrointestinal distress over a certain amount (I keep isomalt, for example, at 64g per day or 4 sugar free werther's candies to avoid bubble guts). Replace the desserts with fruit. If one of your issues is food prep for whatever reason, fruit cups (make sure it's in water or juice and *not* syrup) and quite a few brands of greek yogurts (my fave is Chobani) are great substitutions. Start cutting out anything with a bunch of added sugar and absolutely everything that has corn syrup, glucose syrup, etc (and ESPECIALLY high fructose corn syrup - they like to sneak it into so many foods here in the usa it's absolutely ridiculous)

No addiction although I do miss it and crave it when I see sweets. It’s a lifelong battle as these food producers have added sugar to make us addicted to their foods like how they add high fructose corn syrup in everything.

I don't believe he said you need carbs, but that you need glucose. That said, there are other reasons why purely meat eating isn't necessarily fully healthy for the body, though it often comes from essential vitamins we need to intake and such. It's definitely not the worst diet, but having a mix of veggies, fruits and generally white meats is often the best diet with vitamins, proteins, and glucose

@@arkiststark It depends on how much you eat a day. The whole thing with scurvy is that a carnivore diet can lack Vitamin C unless you eat a sufficient amount (if I'm not mistaken it's around 2.5 lbs per day) of good meat. I've been off added sugars for many, many years now. I quit after college and it was one of the best decisions of my life. And Chris is right. Quitting it for food is insanely difficult. You'd be so surprised just how many foods at the grocery store have added sugar, even ones you think wouldn't have any!

I haven’t had any added sugars for almost 2 years, do to Candida / a yeast infection. It really wasn’t that hard to stop, the side effects were awful though! Edit: I also haven’t been eating any yeast, drinking, or consuming dairy. I haven’t had any peanuts, honey, corn, or white rice… I am doing much better though, and have added in white rice, and peanut butter zero sugar, and potatoes!

I used to weight around 132kg around 3.5 years ago. lost more than 35 killograms after quiting sugar completely for around 10 months: I was on 1500 kcal a day and my diet consisted of only eggs, mushroms, meat (chicken breast), olive oil (+_ a spoon a day), broculi, calaflower, cucumber, tomato and carrot After around 2 months some of my health conditions like random pains, skin and joint issues went away completely. During that time I wasn't sick a single time. After reaching +_94kg I was in my peak form so far when it comes to how I felt about condition of my mind and body. I had lots of energy and I wasn't sick for a long time despite being prone to sickness before... Then I started bulking again (and quit the no-sugar diet) to gain some muscle and then cutting again and so on and so forth... Currently I think that I'd like to get to around 80/85kg (currently around 97kg after recent bulk). Yesterday started cutting again... this time around I no longer quit sugar due to the fact that I'm not in position to do that from financial perspective... I honestly think that if not for the inflation and constant price rises people's diets would be better since diet based on processed carbs like bread and pasta and even stuff like rice is more cost efficient than meat&veiges based diet... I can buy half a killogram of raw pasta for less than a dollar and have enough food for myself for a couple of days or I can spend 5$ for 0.8 killogram of chicken breast daily... well I no longer can afford to do so but if someone who's reading this comment does have that posibility then by all means I highly advice to try doing so!

I've been addicted to sugary foods since childhood and now am over 3 years with no cravings. Cutting sugar out in one go makes you prone to get back to your habits the moment you try sugary food again. That's how I failed multiple times. When I started to slowly change my diet and take artificial sugar out, the cravings gradually stopped. And I can still enjoy some sweets here and there without stressing over possible returning to my bad eating habits. Most probably with years my taste palette has changed enough that sweet is not my favorite taste anymore.

Actually my mid back muscles are sore, specially rhomboid area is sore for a week now, it feels so demotivated that just resting all day without any workout, and even walking feels boring, then the same sugar craving happens to me, I binge watching and eating all those dirty things, that I didn't consume earlier when I used to workout, but bro after this video, I must cut all the added sugars and just relying on natural sugars, as that will ig worsen my back condition...... Thank you so much Chris, this video is definitely a helpful one❤😊🫂

You literally just explained to me why I don't really EVER get joint pain, why I look so skinny, and why I don't have acne. (I am a teenager, and my family doesn't really have any money for sugary things, so I only really have access to healthier options, when I do get food that is.)

For lent I stopped eating processed sugar (ice cream, chocolate, Starbucks, etc) and I started losing fat, felt energetic, could focus better, had better sleeps, and cravings went away too!! I felt better SIGNIFICANTLY and overall healthier. I was also obese, lost my period, pre diabetic, and fatty liver (and I’m a teen)… but with exercise, plus decent eating, and not eating processed sugar all of those problems were resolved…

Word of warning about MonkFruit. It's almost always mixed with erythritol (typically many times more erythritol than monk fruit) to give it a 1:1 ratio for replacing sugar. Erythritol has recently been linked with increased risk of blood clots and heart problems as well as nausea. Powdered stevia is also often mixed with erythritol. I always go for the liquid stevia
