Not going to lie, I was eating well to get ready to join the military and it honestly made me feel so good. More energy, clearer skin, less body aches. A big thing for me was sugar so I cut back and almost never had added sugar and I also cut back on salt. When I stopped, things tasted too sweet or too salty. I haven’t eaten good like that in years so now I’m back at square one. Can’t wait to eat good again, I’ve almost gained 50 pounds in 4 years.

@@warr1or227 good analogy, but I’d probably say it’s more like comparing coke to lemonade, because comparing it to water could insinuate healthy food is tasteless, which it is not. Coke is sweet and addictive, everyone can enjoy it. Lemonade will never taste like coke, but it will have its own taste, very delicious and it’s full of vitamins and good for your body (in moderation, just like all food, even healthy food). And if you’d go off coke for years and your only tasty drink of choice would be lemonade, you would start feeling the benefits of that vitamic C, the extra energy without the sugar crash, less cravings and how the healthy benefits of the micronutrients feel in your body. After a while, if you try coke again, sure it will still be tasty, but it will not taste as good because you won’t only taste it with your tongue (which will start noticing the poor ingredients that you were so used to before that they could hide behind the sugar. The taste will just forever be “off”), but with your whole body. You will notice the sugar crash you weren’t noticing before because it was just a normal occurrence for you. You will notice your body will not gain anything from it, and you will miss the lemonade. You will genuinely wonder why people even drink coke when lemonade is so tasty itself and so good for you. And, if you make it at home, it will be cheaper than coke, which you can only buy. This is why you don’t miss unhealthy eating once you really go off it. This was a fun analogy to reflect upon! Keep up the good work 🤜🏼🤛🏻

3:22 This should be an eye opener for most people. Chris has been eating healthy while making his food taste super good to the point that the junk foods which are suppose to be "tasty" tastes bad for him. People don't want to diet cause the foods are "boring" and he has shown that dieting doesn't have to be boring. You can actually make a tasty meal while being healthy.

Years ago, we started to have a fast food Friday in our house, because who wants to cook on Friday night? Fast forward, nowadays, we still have our fast food Friday, but this time, we make our own burgers and homemade pizzas - including buns and dough. Obviously, it tastes so much better, but it takes time, even if it’s not complicated. And now, all burgers from restaurant disappoint. But convenience is convenience,. Well done that you chose to take care of yourself, by the way, it definitely has a big impact on self respect and mental health! 👍🏻

thats because people think if youre working out and want a good body you HAVE TO cut all the sesiosings , salts , fats etc. Which you dont have to cut any of them unless youre competing and doing this as "job" professionaly. Im not talking about personal trainers, still talking about pro bodybuilders who compete seperate times of the year. That makes foods untasty and gross that people think if you want muscle and decent body you should eat like that
@nonexistent944
@nonexistent944 2 жыл бұрын
@@ilkemagic7721 its all about finding a balance. That's also one of the reasons why people can't stick to their diet. We can eat those junk foods if we want but it should be moderate and most the nutritions must be healthy. Its not like everyone is trying to compete. I am talking about a regular healthy lifestyle without any health issues.

Well done. However, don’t worry about having a cheat meal weekly and a cheat day every once in awhile. Can actually really help mentally and keep you on track for the long term as healthy eating can get boring over time.
@ucanthandletruth4456
@ucanthandletruth4456 Жыл бұрын
I agree with the cheat meal. I allow myself a cheat snack or a cheat lunch on Sundays (that's the one day I don't do any workouts) usually every other week sometimes every week. But I don't think an entire cheat day is good. You're early on like me ( only 3 mo's here) and I know staying strong mentally has what's helped me to remain consistent. I think atleast for myself if I took an entire day to eat what I want this early on that it could throw off my mental game. But everyone's different so to each their own.

@@lGameChangers I couldn’t agree more. Before when I ate crap food & felt like crap I honestly didn’t realize how bad I felt since it was a constant feeling. Sure I knew I didn’t have enough energy to make it thru the day or that I’d get joint pain but since it was how I always felt & not out of the ordinary for me I assumed it’s “ just cuz I’m getting older “. Boy now do I realize how wrong I was. After just a 1.5 weeks of clean eating I started to see changes like more energy, not being bloated ( which as woman and being asked if ur pregnant cuz ur still think everywhere else was a huge deal), being able to sleep much better then the night. Like even my hair & nails are much better. And that’s just to name a few things at the beginning of my journey. My only regret is that I waited so long to treat my body right so that it can take care of me in my day to day. I don’t ever wanna go back to feeling like I did a few months ago. It can only get better and I can’t even imagine what a year of clean eating and working out feels like but I can’t wait to see!!!

There's no question, all the grease and saturated and trans fat and sodium, fast food is literally poison for you body and will make you feel so crumby when you're used to eating healthy. I can't even drink one can of soda. you really gotta get into making your own meals at home man. It can save you money and you will feel so much better. You're literally paying more to put toxins in your body. And if you meal prep, making larger quantities at once to eat later you can save a lot of time.

Hey Chris, I am Jan, 46 years old from Germany. Thank you for this video! I usually don’t comment anything on social media. But I felt the urge to really thank you. I suffered a lot of intolerance because of eating. I guess I know a lot about nutrition and it wasn’t the missing knowledge but I was lacking on the discipline to keep eating healthy. Just too many exceptions with fast food etc. So, besides your workout vlogs which by the way are outstanding I watched this video. And it made a great impact on me. It’s especially how you described how bad you felt after each junk meal and how much better tastes healthy food. And it’s true. Plus when your son said, he can’t believe you eating this junk because you didn’t for quite a while. It made me think that it might be not ok too eat once a week at McDonalds….So, a huge thank you for inspiring me and letting me participate in your knowledge!!!
