My father eats an omnivorous diet, and my mother is vegan, and she never behaved like this, she was vegan because eating meat conflicted with her ethic/moral views and she doesn’t like the taste of meat as much, but she never tried to shove her ideals down someone’s throat. Also, veganism does pose a problem to people’s health for the simple reason that we evolved to eat meat and plants together, my mother has to take supplements for this reason, since a solely plant diet can’t sustain us. My brothers and I were brought up vegan until we were like 4 or 5, so basically until we started school, and as each of us came of an age to make the decision if we wanted to stay vegan, become vegetarian, or eat a omnivorous diet. Our parents made sure we understood what it meant to eat meat, and that it’s ok to do so if we don’t have any opposition to it and that it would be ok to stay vegan or become vegetarian if we wanted to. I continue to eat vegan food because I enjoy it, but I eat meat as well. People need to stop being so idiotic about such simplistic things, because here’s the truth, humans have evolved to be omnivores, that means we evolved to eat plants and animals, as both provide different benefits to us and people who eat entirely meat or entirely plants both will have health problems. If someone chooses to become vegan or vegetarian, they are 100% free to do so, but they don’t have the right to be an ass about it to everyone who doesn’t share their views. If you are vegan, you will likely have to take supplements because a solely vegan diet is not really feasible. By the way, I have grandparents who run a small farm, they have chickens, goats, and they grow their own food as well. My grandparents treat the chickens and goats like pets, and they act a bit like pets as well, goats act a lot like dogs with horns. Milk isn’t stolen from animals, the milk that’s milked from them is additional milk that they had. Eggs aren’t being stolen from chickens, the eggs are typically unfertilized, meaning that they would never develop into a chick meaning that they aren’t even living. The animals aren’t raped, they mate when they choose to. They may be turned into meat, but they’ve lived a good life, and can reach a pretty decent age before this happens. Another thing that’s fun to know, there is nothing that stops bees from leaving artificial nests, meaning that they likely understand that while they give up honey, they get protection by doing so. Some people bitch about things that they know nothing about, and it’s best to ignore them, because as Mark Twain said “Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience”. If you read this, good job. By the way, as a minor, I’m fucking terrified for the future, we’re all screwed. Omg the supplement argument, come up with better excuses!!! I'm a strongman athlete who would have to take creatine, vitamins and minerals anyways. And as an omnivor you should definitely supplement vitamin B12 and D3 because our soils are so drained of these that you can't get them through regular food in most western countries, especially in America and central Europe. Also the animals are getting raped in the sense where in 99% of cases they get fertilised artificially without their choice. This is necessary for cows to be efficient f.e. because they only give milk when they are pregnant. And to make sure that the babies don't drink the milk their mother produces, we kill the babies if they're male and enslave them if they're female. That can be repeated 3-4 times until the cows are not able to stand on their own anymore and get killed as well. This 5 years life expectancy vs. 20-25 years in nature. This is disgusting. This could be avoided by drinking oat milk.

There are heaps of vegans just quietly going on with our lives that you don't see. The main reason I have seen people regress back to eating animal products is when they get a new partner or have had a non-vegan partner/family etc who pressures or chips away at them. Most of them are too gutless to admit this even to themselves and so they come up with very unscientific health claims and spread more misinformation. Very sad. You all say "our choice" but we get hassled and ridiculed all the time. Only the strongest people can swim against such a strong tide, sadly.

When I found out as a teenager that we could live and be healthy without meat I was overjoyed and went vegetarian immediately and vegan later as my knowledge of the innate cruelty involved in ALL animal agriculture evolved. I did backslide with dairy a few times but after I watched Earthlings (a harrowing experience but was what I needed to do, to get the resolve to go vegan for life) in 2006/7 I just knew I couldn't keep using such cruelly obtained products and haven't since. That's why vegans say to watch these films. Then you can never delude yourself again about the whole process of getting milk, eggs and flesh of animals. Its a frickin horror show. Its hell for the workers too ! Gotta be the worst job and lots of injuries in 'processing' of the animals dead bodies. What do you mean by "have to" give up being vegan. Its still a choice they make. There might be social pressure and inconvenience but noone is holding a gun to their head.
