I'll admit that in the beginning, I play with Arthur's gun like a kid with his dad's credit card. Killing travellers just because I can, robbing stores, stealing or killing people's livestock, and being a complete asshole with the lowest honor (dishonor?) possible. But as I continue to play, I see myself stop doing all that and finding joy in helping the strangers, greeting people, and respecting other people (well they're NPC's, but I still end up respecting them like they're real). When the game is coming to a close, I have the highest honor. Arthur's confession to the sister hits me hard. This game really made an impact on my personal life.

@@Kentucky_Caveman no way, I need to know what happens in the massacre of Black Water in the Red Dead Redemption 3 kkk
@NoNo-pw6kd4 жыл бұрын
AG Mor both of the games are built around the obscurity of the massacre though. And (to me) rdr3 would be more harmful to the story than a good addition. The most that could happen is a blackwater chapter dlc for RDR2 that is a separate tab on the main menu and you get Bodaciea as your only horse with the missions going in just a linear couple of hour add-on. Then the game cuts to black right as the first shot is fired for the massacre
@NoNo-pw6kd4 жыл бұрын
To elaborate on what I meant about RDR3 is, what would it be about. Sure there is Jack after RDR1 but that would be to far out of the Western era, being WW1 and all. Sadie/Charles wouldn’t make much sense because we got the most of their stories over the course of the game, and if we want more it would make more sense for a story DLC explaining what happened to them after RDR2. Events before RDR2 might work but that would be kind of awkward, we know the fates of all the gang members we could possibly play. It might work as Mac/Davey but what would be their Redemption arc? Davey dies moving in the Grizzlies with the gang and Mac gets killed/captured.

“John made it. He’s the only one. The rest of us? No. But I tried. In the end, I did.”
My first play through, I was playing with my fiancé (now wife). She wanted me to pass the game before her since she saw how passionate I was about the whole thing. When I got to Arthur’s last ride, I was legit tearing up. I had tears run down my face during this scene. Idk if it was because of high honor, idk if it was because of emotional attachment, but I had tears. I knew at that point, Arthur was gone. I had that strong gut feeling that Arthur wasn’t going to make it much further, and that the storyline of Arthur was coming to an end. It broke my heart. But it was a beautiful moment for me to see such amazing character development. To see a man, once engulfed in a horrible past, to see him do right and try to make his last few days, just good days.

its the most amazing character development in a game. so highly underated. i havent finished many games in years, but this one was one of them. the ending was insane. just the build up, emotion, it was so well done.
@ddddoc70783 жыл бұрын
That feeling is heartbreaking but so emboldening too. We are conditioned to believe everything will turn out okay, that the protagonist will get the bad guy and live happily ever after. Arthur was unstoppable at the end of the game because he knew he was already dead. The entire concept of self preservation had left him. He did not GAF about getting out alive. He did not GAF about anything but John and the innocent people being safe. We watch his body breakdown slowly from the TB and then quickly from shots and fights with Micah, but none of that matters. There is no return mission. We could have landed on the moon so much sooner if part of the mission wasn't worrying about getting the astronauts home. Arthur did not care about coming back. He had a mission to complete and nothing, not self preservation or anything else came first. That is why he couldn't be stopped at the end

I started the game like in the beginning of 2020, and i didn't think a death of a fictional character and a song would make me cry so bad, i thank you for this, Chris, keep it goin', fella.

I played both...... and tbh i prefer Arthur in many ways...... Yet christoper judge's voice is not to be taken lightly.... Now if we are talking about GotY...... i would love RDR2 to get it ....... but its battle of 2 titans..... each have their own merits. GoW came out a winner prolly from many points such as buttons responsives and less buggy (which is pretty important in gaming industries in my opinion). Anyway..... it's done by now...... let this 2 games leaves their mark in history, as a standard of gaming ... so we gamers might able to enjoy more good games like this.

I never played RDR games in my life. But when I stumbled upon your song, I instantly was overflown by memories. Memories of my childhood, my grandparents. I remember one time when my grandpa was teaching me to drive a car. He had an old Russian SUV (it's called UAZ), and for a 14 year-old me it was hell to control the car. I was starting to give up, and then he said a few simple words that I brushed off at that time. He said: "One day you'll be at my place, so you'd better learn now." Lung cancer took him three months ago. Now I'm 21 and I began to realize the true meaning of what he said.
