My father dedicated this to me a few months before he died... I was too young to truly understand it... but now that I have grown up, I understand it... I have one thing to say to you Daddy... He may have stole my heart when I was little... But I will ALWAYS be your little girl! No man could ever take your place in my life, or in my heart!

Every now and then, I go down the youtube rabbit hole and rediscover gems like this. My dad passed nine months ago so I'm still going through many "firsts" without him. I never married, but Dad and I danced many times. He was an excellent dancer, and I loved watching him and Mom dance. They both came to live their final years with me and it was a privilege to have that time with them. When they could no longer dance, we sang to all the old songs. We especially loved the boleros and the mexican music of their era. I still love that music. Such lovely memories.❤

The first time I heard this song on the radio, I immediately pulled off to the side of the road and called my daughter. She had been searching for just the right song for her father/daughter dance because her father was very stressed about dancing in front over 150 people with only he and his little girl on the floor. As soon as she heard the song, she knew it was the one. So many of the things in the song were so personal for her and her dad...the sprinker, the bike, and especially the big popsicle grin! We put together a slideshow synced to the song and it ran on a large screen tv as they were dancing. Her dad absolutely loved it and for once he didn't mind dancing in public. He's not a country music fan but every time he hears the song, a smile comes over his face and you know his mind is drifting back to that moment.

This song is spine-tingling. I cry like a baby everytime I listen to it. Comes to show that, no matter how old you grow or how much time passes by, in your daddy's eyes you'll always be his little Cinderella.

Father's care so much for us. They're relieved when we find true love but they're also sad because they think that we will forget them and all the special moments. They loved and knew us first. This bond is why they're expectations are very high and why they try to hold on to us for as long as they can. Because they are scared of losing us when we start new lives. This message behind the song rings of truth.

I lost the first man I ever loved, 15 days after I gave birth to my first born & his first grandson... It kills me knowing that he won’t ever get the chance to create the memories & build the bond that a grandfather & grandson should have because that opportunity was taken away way too soon considering we had only had our son home from the hospital for 4 days from being born at 34 weeks premature, when God decided it was his time to come home. My son was born on Christmas Day, so it brings me a little joy in knowing that his last Christmas here on this earth I was able to give him one of the best gifts a parent could receive. We’ve since had another son & have planned date for next year to get Married so that the boys will be old enough to remember their parents getting Married. It breaks my heart that my daddy won’t be there to walk me down the isle & give me away but I’m also at peace with the fact that he escaped this crazy world we live in today. January 9 of 2023 will make it 3 years since my hero gained his wings & I know he’s up there relaxing with Jesus! ❤️

Update: I'm married as of November 7th 2020. Couldn't do a Christmas wedding for more reasons than the holiday itself. It's still hard 5 years later that he couldn't walk me down the isle but I was still blessed to have my mother and two amazing women who were also like moms to me. This year as well is far from perfect. Too many empty seats at the table this year around the world. To those who commented not only with similar losses I'm so sorry you also have experienced such pain. My condolences. It's not easy. Please know it eventually gets easier to bare the pain. To those who offered condolences to myself and others thank you. Please stay safe. I was going to play this at my wedding one day (when I do finally meet the one) and dance with my dad to the song. The last line he said my dad would pass me off to my future hubby or wife if I wanted and we would play our song and dance then everyone would slowly come join. I was going to have my wedding on a Christmas since my parents took Halloween. I can't do that now. My dad died January 6th of this year (2015). I am 19. It was my last semester at Lackawanna College. Everyone loses their parents I just never thought I would still be a kid when it happened. Let it be known to everyone on here. Do not take your loved ones for granted. We only have so much time on this Earth. Spend it with your loved ones and make them smile not frown. Me and my dad fought a lot I wish things had been different. I was always daddy's girl even though we fought. I loved him very much but now I cannot share any of this with him. Be blessed to have parents that love you. I know I was.

My dad played this song for me one day and said that this would be our song at my wedding, unfortunately my dad passed away in January 2017 and this year I'm getting married and I won't have him with me to walk me down the aisle to my husband-to-be instead I'll have my Uncle/Godfather giving me away. It'll be so hard to play this song without busting into tears 😭😭😭😭 as I dance with my Uncle/Godfather, brother's and all the men who has had an impact on my life but I know deep down inside of me even though my dad's not with me in person he'll be there in spirit with me. I'm forever grateful for my dad and everything he has done/did for me but there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about my dad, I love and miss him like crazy. I Love and Miss You Daddy forever ****For all you girl's, young ladies, and women that still have your dad in your life cherish him, check on him, call him, tell him you love him and if he need's something rather it be big/small please don't hesitate to do it just go do it for him because trust me the pain hurt's everyday not picking up the phone just to call him and say hey dad, you okay you need anything, I love you and to hear him say it back, trust me you're going to miss it. I know I do every single day/night!****

'Cinderella' by Chuck Wicks is a moving video w entrancing lyrics. The close relationship btween the father & daughter shows the memories they shared. Reminds me of me & my father. We were very close. He passed on Nov 18th, 2009. I miss him now, forever & byond eternity. Due 2 myriad negative events in my life that have taken place from when I 1st watched & listened 2 'Cinderella'. W much sadness, @ this time I can't watch & listen 2 it w out it bringing tears to my eyes. I've recently been informed by my husband he has fallen back in love w his 1st love (he was w her b4 we met), doesn't love me anymore & wants a divorce. Just like the wicked stepmother & sisters treated (used/abused/disrespected/etc.) Cinderella. That's been happening 2 me. By my soon 2 b ex, his 1st love & other people in my immediate family that I choose not 2 convey. They all blieve I can just happily move 4ward. Not @ my age (I'd rather not convey). Rite now the difference btween me & Cinderella. Cinderella finds a good, kind, loving & loyal man. Not me. They're hard 2 find nowadays. My 🩵 aches every day 4 that special some1 that will honestly love me, b kind, loyal & make me feel safe. Hopefully, if that happens. I'll b able 2 once again, watch & listen 2 'Cinderella'.

I do have childhood memories hiding w/ mom when daddy got home, will then jump out of our hiding place to surprise him, but we were the ones always surprised because he’d always come home w/ a little something for us, whether it piece of chocolate or a rose. Was going to do because you loved me but instead I decided we’re going to surprise the people that made us who we are at the ceremony by switching our bridesmaids n groomsmen for our parents my aunt and his gma and a couple other family members that are the reason we’re still alive. The ones who loved us and saw us through prison addiction recovery and always talked us out of walking away from one another in those weak times of addiction. We’re 18 months sober and shared 6 amazing years together. We were lucky to have family’s that never ever gave up on us and loved us both enough to help us see the light when we didn’t see it ourselves

Every time I hear this song I can't help but cry. The song is just so beautiful, and ever since I was a little girl this has always been my goal. I was raised conservatively in the south so. Back when i was younger however my father abandoned my sister and I in favor of drugs my mother did the same. So, I have always thought about having my sister walk me for my wedding, but its songs like this that make me think i wish my dad still cared about his daughters, since her never had any sons.

I don't listen to this song very often. My dad passed away almost 21 years ago. It makes me miss him so much. Knowing he has missed all of those milestones and wont be there to walk me down the aisle one day.

I love this song. It's always been 1 of my favorites. I can't help but feel a little sad when I listen to it tho. My parents divorced when I was only a year or so old & my father never really came around or showed any interest in having a relationship my sister or I. Mom never remarried so I've never really had a father figure in my life. I wish he would've cared more about us & that he could've been the kind of father that every child needs & deserves.

+Danica Orcasitas I know exactly how you feel.. it is hard and always will be. My dad is now raising his own family and doesn't acknowledge me if I see him out. I just tell myself I will be a better parent to my boys than he ever was for us.

It’s been almost 11 years since my dad passed. This song makes me cry EVERYTIME. Mostly because I was 18 when he suddenly died. So I imagine to him I’m forever young. Because in my minds he’s frozen at 50
