What can I use to substitute alcohol. Muslim friendly.

@@aleefahana5536 Sorry for the late response! I just read your comment today~~😓Soju is added to gochujang to promote enzyme activity for fermentation and act as a preservative, extending its shelf life. Instead of soju, you can use cooled boiled water with extra sea salt to aid preservation and add a bit of saltiness. Hope this helps. Thank you! 😊🙏

Yes, that's right! It's a gochujang recipe that includes fermented soybean powder (meju powder), allowing you to make it right away, which is great. Enjoy making it deliciously. Thank you for leaving a nice comment!😊🥰🙏

Thank you to take the time to show us the recipe made at home. I know Gochujang paste is made with chilli peper powder but, I wonder if there is a way to make or buy a Gochujang paste with out being spicy. I love spicy but, it is imposible for me to eat it, because I have problems with my stomach. I always wondered it is a no spicy one. I love your recipes. 😊❤
@chungskfood7 ай бұрын
Ah, I see you have stomach issues and can't eat spicy food. When choosing chili pepper powder for gochujang, you can use a non-spicy chili pepper powder. Another option might be to use red paprika powder. I also don't handle spicy food well, so I mostly use non-spicy chili pepper powder when I need it. I hope this answer is helpful to you. Than you for liking my recipes!!😊🥰🙏

@@chungskfood Thank you for you reply to my question. Yes I thought that of using paprika instead. Or if I can find the non chili powder, that would be great too. Thank you again for replying to me, it was very nice of you. Love to you, from Toronto Canada. 😊

Oh my goodness! I never knew it was so easy to make this! I eat so much gochujang and at $10-12 USD per 1Kg tub, it adds up! I do have all the ingredients on hand and I will make a batch, but all of the ingredients can be expensive here in the US...1lb of pepper flakes, processed in Korea but grown in China is about $8 to $10 true Korean grown can cost us minimum $25usd and up for 1 lb! Rice syrup that size is $10 to $12 usd and the soybean powder $6 to $10. So it will be curious to see if it is more cost effective to buy or make gochujang! But honestly, I cant wait to taste my own home made! Thank You once again! I think it is kind of amazing that I am able to make my own!

You seem to know a lot about it~~ I've heard store-bought gochujang doesn't have much gochugaru. It might cost a bit more, but knowing what's in it, and getting better taste and health benefits makes it worth it. Plus, it's easy to make if you have the ingredients, and it lasts a long time. Thanks for taking an interest in making gochujang. Enjoy making it and thanks again!😊🥰🙏👏

@chungskfood I am so excited to try to make it! And I really didn't realize that they don't use a lot of pepper flakes in the commercially produced gochujang. Now I am more eager to make it!! I love Korean food and even hope to visit Korea one day! I truly wish I had a Korean friend here in Florida, it would be so wonderful to know someone who can share their knowledge with me!!

I live in Russia, so it’s quite difficult to buy most part of ingredients here, or it’s extra expensive. So l plan to use our native variety as honey and vodka mixed with water, and miso paste. Coz 100% l won’t find meju in Moscow((( So l will make a small amount to check if it tastes at least close to original)))
@chungskfood16 күн бұрын
I see! If you don't have meju powder, you can definitely use doenjang or miso instead. Hope your gochujang turns out great! Good luck!😊🙏

It's supposed to ferment for months. There's no way this instant version would taste as good as the fermented version. Fermentation adds so much flavor that nothing else can even compare to.

What if we don't want to add suju becuse i am a muslim i can'use any type of alchohal.what should i add instead
@chungskfood2 ай бұрын
The reason for adding soju when making gochujang is that the alcohol in soju promotes enzyme activity, aiding the fermentation process, and acts as a preservative, allowing the gochujang to be stored for a longer period. Instead of soju, you can use cooled boiled water with a bit more sea salt to help with preservation, making the gochujang slightly saltier, which can also be beneficial. Hope this works for you. Thank you!😊🙏

Soju 😮😢
@chungskfood5 ай бұрын
Adding soju when making gochujang prevents mold growth and helps adjust the paste's thickness. The alcohol evaporates as time passes.😊
