Awww I love seeing Jeffrey & Chynna talk about their father John Phillips with pride, in spite of the trauma his life created. It's really nice to see their bond and see the joy that comes from their reminiscence. Chynna is so pretty, looking glamourous in that hat.

Michelle Phillips intentionally broke up a family which shows she's basically a selfish person. Nothing like befriending the woman whose husband you want to take. He was such a scoundrel she was probably glad to be rid of him! Jeff's mom is the hero of the story for not letting that get her down . Good to see forgiveness Reigns in your family and the children are grounded oh, God knows the odds were against that. I think had Michelle not been so beautiful and Famous, she wouldn't be getting such a pat on the back for her behavior. But all's well that ends well!

@@nancylyon-gray3499 ALL have fallen short of the glory of God as Scripture says. We are all sinners. When we ask the Lord to redeem us He makes all things new & we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to behave better but it is His enabling. We certainly can’t judge or be surprised when sinners sin when they do not know the Lord. First John 1:9… “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” That is addressed to Christians.

I really enjoyed this video today Chynna. You not only gave us a glimpse of your oldest brother but you gave us a glimpse of you relaxed and letting your relationship with God be inherent ... however , allowing yourself to show the warm and loving personality that you are. Jeffrey seems like a wonderful man. He and I are the same age. The two of you obviously have a closeness and respect for each other and that was beautiful to see.

I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear, “Didn’t I just pay you to be on my show?” I’m an 80s kid but my Mom taught me music appreciation through her love of music from the 50s and 60s including The Mama’s and The Papa’s. This was after her fundamentalist period in the 70s and early 80s when all secular music was of the devil. Anyway she’s 74, and I just asked her to tell me her first memory of them. “California Dreamin” was her first encounter and “their sound was so unique and always recognizable. Harmonies like no other.” Thanks Jeff and Chynna for sharing your stories.

Honestly Chynna I'm hoping you remember the message that I have loved about that young lady, that I was trying to help through some issues. I send out loud hold on for one more day your song immediately came on the radio. And I get that you may so the rights to this but it was more than that it was the timing. For about a month-and-a-half now things like this are happening everyday more frequent and more obvious. I have never felt closer to Christ! And now that your brother just said that I seriously have chills running up and down my spine praying for the Baldwin family highly encouraging you and everybody else to be still know he is God. My love to all my sisters and brothers

They said mean things about how she passed but The Washington Post (our newspaper) said that she died of heart complications. My dad just loved her. I have an older sister who loved them too and she bought all their records, so that worked out for me. Many years later when I heard "Hold On," by Wilson Phillips I was blown away! What a great song!! Papa John & Brian Wilson have some very talented daughters. (yes, I'm a Beach Boys fan as well). I just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed watching this video with You and your brother Jeff talking about old times and The Mama's & Papa's glory days. May I say, Chynna, one of the things I love best about you is your willingness to publicly stand by Mackenzie when she revealed what happened with your dad. I really appreciated that as well. Because I know from first hand experience that NO ONE would ever reveal what mckenzie revealed.Unless it were true. Being an incest survivor is the last taboo. I also don't believe that you can hold people responsible for things they have done at various times in their lives, IF they have transformed, into someone entirely different at the later and last stages of their lives. I watched Mackenzie helping someone on a talk show to get counseling. Mackenzie was so sincere and vulnerable, but completely focused on the talk show guest who she was attempting to help. Listening to her, I felt very sorry that the only thing the media had made anyone aware of was that she had drug issues. Never did any media address the why. She had been marginalized into a tiny box that contained nothing except "drug user", until they gave her incest revelation publicity. But again, nothing beyond the label. I've not heard of any follow up, what is she doing now, how is she doing now? I know she was very sincere as an advocate for people who have psch trauma. It would be great to hear how she's doing, what she's doing, etc.

Loved this, Chynna! I was such a fan of the Mamas and Papas! My friends and I were at a diner years and years ago after Sunday evening church services and we were talking and laughing and eating and just having such a good time that we lost track of time. All of a sudden 'Monday Monday' came on the sound system. We looked at our watches and it had just gone from Sunday night to Monday morning....it was so appropriate!

Hi Chynna, these little reminiscing sessions about the rock n roll experiences of the 60's and 70's are so important. The ridiculous number of talented people from those days - including the legends who were still around from previous decades - and the stories about them are so important to give future generations a real insight into that era. It's rock n roll history that will soon be forgotten if not documented in the way you're doing it. That talent is leaving us by the week and soon there'll be nobody left to give us the behind the scenes stories of what life was like in Los Angeles for those gifted musicians. Did your mother ever meet Morrison, Joplin, Hendrix, (other than at Monterey Pop) on and on, and would she share some of those stories. Have a great day and thanks!

I love hearing about the family dynamics. My family is similar with full-siblings, half-siblings, step-siblings. We've pretty much dropped all the prefixes to where we're all just brothers and sisters. Thanks for the "family" fellowship today.

It's funny how you are such a gorgeous woman, Chynna, but your beauty seems to come from your dad's classic, perfect features more than your knockout mom. Your mom seems to have provided more of a recipe for beauty & your dad a copy. What a beautiful, beautiful conversation. Your kindness & love & sharing of sweet stories of your family, who are the greatest icons in music for so many, is as incredible & historic as their music. It's where your Christianity soars. Thanks, & bless you.

Chynna's family is so much like every family. It is wonderful that she shares them with us, as most of us have been where she's been. So normal with husbands, siblings, half-siblings and great stories. That is the reality of family in America. Michelle, I have to say is my favorite. She is real. I remember listening to the M&P's when I was in college in Munich 66-68. "Monday, Monday" and I had just come from Glendale, Ca.
