No they don't... They never stop... They're always talking and they keep you up at night and they nag and claw and scratch at your mind and they make that ledge look so appealing, and one step. One step is all it would take to silence them... To finally make them shut up... So why can't I take it? Why is everyone so opposed to letting me finally rest and finally be free of this hell inside that tortures me daily... How is it fair that I have to feel this and suffer silently just so other people don't have to miss me... And if I try then I'm the selfish one for not considering how they would feel, but how are they not the selfish ones for making me have to live like this..? Why is it okay for me to hurt this badly just so everyone around me doesn't have to..?

@@elliemaej520 sorry to reply so negatively. I've been fighting PTSD and depression for the last 24 years, and there's literally nobody in my life that understands how hard it is sometimes to stay away from that ledge. And the last few days I've been at a low in my struggle, lower then I've been in a long time. And your comment hit close to home because this band and almost every one of their songs explains my mind in ways I've never been able to find the words to do. And your sentence of "the horrible thoughts you wish would disappear" is EXACTLY one of the things I struggle the most with because they cause me insomnia and I barely sleep and when I do they still don't stop because they become my dreams, making any dream I do have a nightmare.. to the point I don't sleep deeply enough to even dream anymore. I haven't since I was a child. And when I do dream they're always nightmares...

Drifting away They'll never understand Why I disappear The voices that I hear Calling me into the darkness I'll breathe in, I'll breathe out So sick of holding it down When no one sees This mess of me It's okay, I'm alright Even though I'm dyin' inside I'm never free Of this mess of me I dance with demons Conceal this double life No rhyme or reason For the war behind these Eyes, don't get too close Do you see what I see? Haunting like a ghost I'm never free I'll breathe in, I'll breathe out So sick of holding it down When no one sees This mess of me It's okay, I'm alright Even though I'm dyin' inside I'm never free Of this mess of me This mess of me No, I'm never free My charade, my grenade I will lie for you I will follow you Until the end I'm ashamed, I'm afraid If they knew the truth Of my abuse What would they do? What would they do? My charade, my grenade If they knew the truth Of my abuse I'll breathe in, I'll breathe out So sick of holding it down When no one sees This mess of me It's okay, I'm alright Even though I'm dyin' inside I'm never free Oh, of this mess of me I'm never free Of this mess of me [What a NICE song]

“If they knew the truth about my abuse” I feel insignificant because hearing everyone else’s stories makes mine very small but as a kid I wasn’t abused by my family but I was abused but the kids at school for 7 years, one of the worst times was when we had to wait for our parents to pick us up and I was hiding from everyone and reading when about 20 kids blocked the exit to where I was hiding and when I tried to get out they kicked me back in. I was kicked, pucnched, slapped, pushed and had many basket balls thrown at my head. I’ve never really told anyone because there’s always someone who has it worse and I don’t want them to feel alone. But being bullied and hurt for 7 years really shaped who I am not really in the best way, I don’t know how to make friends and I have severe trust issues and separation anxiety due to my mom leaving for 5 years and still never caring about me, even saying when I told her I cut my legs “I don’t give a shit about your legs” it’s hard but I’m learning to deal with it and get used to it

Just because others have been through more or worse does not invalidate what you faced. It saddens me when people say that. I get it. I finally came clean with mine a month ago or so and I know it’ll get a little worse before it can actually get better. I highly recommend reaching out. I know how scary the unknown is but initially keeping it inside will only continue to break you down more and more as time progresses. I told mine on impulse because the pain got so unbearable to the point of my sanity basically crippling to nothing. It won’t be easy. And there’s truly no telling when it’ll get better or how others will react. But depending on your situation, whether it was a person or a certain event, letting it eat away at you won’t do you any good. I believe in you, you are very strong. Thank you for existing. Listening to this band while writing my novel. This speaks volumes not just for my main character but for me. C-PTSD is a thing. Most people who meet me have no idea the war behind these eyes or the demons I fight daily. Thank you for your music. With these songs, I might be able to one day share my pain with the world through my novels. Maybe one day there will be a day I can finally let the charade drop and step out into the light. The fact that so many songs with similar subject matter (trauma, suicide, depression, anxiety, etc.) are so relatable to so many people is almost depressing, because a great deal of pain is just so common and well understood, but so few want to talk about it... To those who are reading this, who are in pain, please talk to someone about it. You don't need to fight the battles alone, and it's okay to let people in to help you heal, and never forget that you are loved. Another thank you to Citizen Soldier for another exceptional song, for yet another song that everyone needs to hear. Some heroes wear capes, others wear uniforms, but heroes like yourself compose and perform amazing music that deserves to top the charts.

I don't know if anyone will read this but I just wanna share it and continue listening to this amazing song. I was always bullied by people around me. For some reason, no one tried to be friends with me, or talk to me like I'm a normal person. I was always lonely and developed anxiety and depression throughout my life, feeling useless, worthless, nothing but someone who doesn't deserve to live and feeling like I'm disappointing even the people that doesn't know me. I don't know what Am I living for, why do I continue and why was I born in the first place? I feel like my place isn't here, that I'm not worth to even breath but when I think of dying, leaving everything behind, I'm scared. I'm scared of making my family suffer when it's all my fault I feel like this. Truth is, no one wants to die for real, we just want to feel happy, just a little time when we don't have to worry about every little thing, when we don't have to cry and feel guilty, when we would smile and be happy. We just want everything to be over, either the loss of someone or the feeling of being wortless because the people around you don't care at all, we all have scars we just can't forget. I always thought I'm alone, but I see so many people sharing stories and realize I'm not the only one and maybe I'm not someone who can say this but just... don't give up. Even if you feel like there is no tomorrow, like your world is crashing down and you have no place to hide, there are always better times and a good future that is waiting for you, you just have to be strong and face the world, cry if you want, do things that at least used to give you happiness and find someone to listen to you. It's always gonna be something for you, so... Believe in yourself, in the person you are and try to love yourself! ❤ I may not know you, but I love you, I know you're a strong person, a kind and amazing person and can do everything you dream for!

I used to keep all of my pains and secrets inside before I found the one that would stay by my side. He silences my demons and reminds for just a moment that everything is going to be okay in the end. My past keeps trying to pull me back under, but he keeps me not just above the water but high in the skies. This song reminds me of the older days, when I didn't have him and the beginning where I was too terrified to tell him a thing about the war I waged inside my head. It's another masterpiece; I am never disappointed when I come to listen to a new song that you guys release. Keep up the great work.
