Not sanskrit. But Old Javanesse. At this era Sanskirt was not used anymore. Actually sanskrit was used for official an religion purpose, and ing kingdoms older than Majapahit (Hindu Mataram, Tarumanagara, Kahuripan, etc.). While for everyday purpose, they use the old form of Javanesse Language. In Majapahit era, the language for offical is not Sanskrit but, used Kawi language, which is derivative of sanskrit and mixed with polite form of old javanesse. And of course for everyday purpose they still used Old Javanesse Language

Gajah Mada (translated as Elephant General) (circa 1290 - circa 1364) was, according to Javanese old manuscripts, poems and mythology, a powerful military leader and mahapatih or prime minister of the Majapahit Empire, credited with bringing the empire to its peak of glory. He delivered an oath called Sumpah Palapa, in which he vowed not to eat any food containing spices until he had conquered all of the Southeast Asian archipelago of Nusantara for Majapahit. In modern Indonesia, he serves as an important national hero and a symbol of patriotism.

Javanese language is different to Indonesian. The official language, Indonesian, is actually a variant of the Malay language (Bahasa Melayu). It all began when the Dutch colonial government made the Malay language the official language of the Dutch East Indies. After Indonesia was independent, the Malay language continued to become the official language and since then it developed into Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia). Well, having Indonesian as the national language is Indonesia's greatest asset. Not only people from different parts of Indonesia can understand each other under a unified national language, but Indonesians will also be able to easily communicate with Malaysians, Bruneians, Singaporeans and Southern Thais (who are mostly Malays) and with some southern Filipino Muslims too.

bad guy? hahaha as with nobunaga oda and the majority of world/military leaders, that depends. miongklok was pretty much spot on when he said that, because just like nobunaga oda who wanted to unite japan, gajah mada's ultimate aim was to unite the whole Nusantara (old term for indonesian archipelago, probably including malaysia, brunei, singapore).

As far as I know, ancient Javanese doesn't pronounce a as ò, like sira becomes sirò. The change from a to occurred when the Islamic Mataram kingdom came to power. Before that, it hadn't happened.

@ཀཱ Alright, I think you are mistaken. I said influence. That does not necessarily mean conquest. Majapahit may use diplomatic means to secure the Brunei or Sabahan rajas' loyalties, but Majapahit doesn't install their own governors here. So, while Majapahit could claim iunfluence over Sabah, they may not construct stone monuments here, because they don't have full control over the land.
