Best book I've ever read. It's on Audible so I would have heard it well over 20 times. The fear, anger and other habitual emotions have all been "let go" permanently by over 90% since I started: "feeling the fear as a feeling, but try not to think about it, and invite the feeling to stay in the body....as in don't resist it the feeling". Another analogy I share with kids is: "It's like a FART....you can feel the pressure in you, and when you can you let it go quietly, without a big drama. If you are going through an afternoon of farting you just keep letting it out. SO FART YOUR FEAR AWAY!

Trust me when I say this book is one of the best things that can ever happen to you. I've been reading self help books since I was 14 and most ideas dont stick forever. You know how it goes. This book is very different almost as if it was written by God. It knows you too well. I feel this book is the "answer" to life's problems. It's amazing.
@GabrielaJ-pi4bn Жыл бұрын
This is so interesting that you mention about God... Because this book come into my life as an answer of my prays. I was struggling with reaction from childhood trauma and sometime they are so strong that I get overwhelm and sometimes dont know what solution to find anymore. And in this moment I pray to God and say: here, God, I let myself in your hand and please, find a solution for me because I dont know what I can do more to get ride of so much pain... In the morning I pray exactly with this words, repeting and repeting same request to God and in the afternoon I found the title of this book in a comment of a video from youtube. Wich was the chances to find this comment?! Well, I took it directly as the answer of God after order it and start to read it. One more detail of this conviction, I feel God didint give me just the solution of a single problem but he give me the tool for a lifestyle changing. That how amazing God is! Wish all the best to all of you, dear people!

One thing this video helped me realise that I have struggled with, is that "Letting go" is not a step in a practice or an action that you take. It's the result of the practice. I often found myself trying too hard to let go or telling myself "okay now let go".. then looking back like "did I let go properly?" haha If it was that simple it wouldn't need a book like Hawkin's written. So my reflections are that you may not let go fully first time around when you practice, but with each practice you're with the emotion you will start to feel your strength of letting go.. grow. Keen to hear others thoughts on this..

In terms of claiming other people's baggage, Pastor Andy Stanley had a great response: "Oh no, what are you going to do?" Otherwise, they offload it onto you and make you responsible for it. Then, you dance around trying to solve their problem while they (1) do nothing about it; and (2) reject any and all solutions that you proffer. AA calls it stayin in your own lane. If you become brutally honest about everything in your own life, you will discover that most of what you worry about is in someone else's lane.

I felt attacked once you hit the whole projection issue, as i have deeply seen myself do this to my girlfriend in which i am not happy for and it makes me even more upset, i am trying and that's all anyone can ever do, but damn what an eye opener. Thanks for the talk, great to find out sometimes that you have the power to change your circumstances by changing yourself.
@Thregh2 жыл бұрын
Seems like a really good book. Something worth considering. I would like to add, projection is about seeing things in other, that you are not able or willing to see in yourself. So you're actually getting frustrated of yourself in others, if frustrated is the feeling it triggers. It could also be love and fascination, or other feelings. The work is to take back that projection, and see it in yourself. Also, feelings like shame and guilt are not in per see bad, only if they are toxic. There is also healthy shame, because shame is really important and good for us. It's when we get a shame-based identity, when it gets bad. Embracing shame can be the shortest path to love and selfcompassion.

I love ur vids. So well done. Great summaries, excellent visuals (tho u cut off the chart a bit and it was blurry here n there), i love seeing inside the books, love ur personal relation to the book content, ur honesty and openness. I am working on a pathway for people to let go of depression and its weird how closely Hawkins book parallels my work. I had not read nor heard of him before. I lived with deep shame, guilt, repression, grief from the age of 7 from being molested and my moms guilting and shaming of me for it (!) even tho i was an innocent child... then anger at her continued poor choices for me. I was suicidal, lost, isolated, lonely... so miserable and blamed myself. Then 2 kind souls came into my life and broke that scar shell that encased me. They saw and loved me as i am and it was an awakening for me. Leading me to processing the pain and fear, loss, grief, shame, anger... and i am now being myself. The light, joyful, always kind, loving and peaceful energy intrinsic to our essence. And anyone can feel that. Its belief. Go inward, process and release these stuck feelings and u will soar into the ether. Its magical 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💫💫💫

Hello Clark, I just watched an Abe/Hicks video that might help with love for your Dog. (FYI - I haven’t delved into Hawkins much - tap in every so often but never come out uplifted or energized or satisfied.) Nevertheless, if we go to the core of who we are is unconditional love. The purest expression of who we are is pure positive energy. I always questioned what that was because I didn’t grow up with it or necessarily witness it - Always thought it was fear, drama or struggle based. So Abe says we are love and we get to choose what allows that energy or feeling to flow - flowers, babies, dogs, dessert, cars, whatever. Doesn’t matter what we use to allow that feeling to flow. Identify it - how it feels - then practice it without those things through memories, or with those things, doesn’t matter. Then you have the master key. Then you know when you are off or on and how to shift. To identify in the moment when you are off from your core, awareness, allow it to be all right - which is not repressing and allowing it to flow through you, then identify what you want and focus attention there. Easier said then done when you have practiced other behaviors and processes. Thanks for your insight and help. Do enjoy your content. FYI - love your dog and as much as you want because you are being your true unconditional self - You are love- just recognize you can get that from many expressions in physical if you allow it. Appreciation is the easiest word for me to identify with Love. Blessings!
@3carla95 Жыл бұрын
Hey, mostly listen to Abe. Something I heard from my journey is that it doesn’t matter what you focus on that brings you joy. You are naturally Joy - thereby a positive soul. So if you want to express love for self or a dog - in the moment - doesn’t matter. You are joy. Remember everyone has beliefs- filters which produce you. If another sees it negatively God does not. You get to decide. Express love for your Dog because it’s good. They are unconditional lovers. Just my thought .

Really enjoyed this. A great explanation which helps when reading the book. And with the book I loved pages 2,3 & 4 which goes through a huge list of things that we try out to feel better and then some. And then don’t feel that much better. I’d like to believe that the essence of letting go in relation to our evolutionary mind which is trying to keep us safe - is where the magic starts to happen. That freedom is simple once we grasp what feelings and thoughts are about.

I’d listened to the audio book before I came here, and must have missed the part about pets and self-love (oops) - but it makes SO MUCH sense … at the moment I don’t have a pet because I am not in a situation where I could have one, but DESPERATELY want a cat (and love cat-sitting for friends)… never thought too much about it until now (They are not as cuddle-tolerant as dogs, but still)…

Very glad you led me to this book. It is so full of insights. I do think you undervalue the middle section of the book though. Maybe because you’ve read so much self help that it seems intuitive to you. I’m pretty sure it won’t be as intuitive to everyone. Even as someone whose done a lot of self work, I found so much value in the breakdowns of the emotions. I wouldn’t have thought of releasing them via their component parts and what those parts are without the middle section. Great channel tho. Keep up the good work.

Off the bat it seems pretty amateurish, simply "let go". Once you practice this process, you notice it involves your ego. I literally cried when I was reading and practicing the art of letting go. A part of me was dissolving, the ego I feel. You're practically becoming a monk if your practice the ideas in this book.
