Classic Matches, Thanks for providing this World Cup tie from a full and lively Hampden. Good team performance from Scotland(if guilty of some robust tackling) with Dalglish, McQueen and Hartford impressive!

What a powerful Scottish side that was. Two great full backs, impressive midfield, superb forwards although slightly weaker in central defence as McQueen and Forsyth lacked pace. It has to said that Alan Hanson, Graeme Souness, Lou Macari and Archie Gemmil would further strengthen the team too. Hard to believe that that Scottish side bombed in the World Cup in Argentina even if they recovered to beat eventual finalists Holland.

I’m fascinated by the players not standing in traditional rows for the anthems, and for God Save the Queen being the (clearly very unpopular) Scottish anthem, while noting the crowd were singing Flower of Scotland intermittently.
