I hate glass shower doors and the glass is not the worst part.The tracks where the doors slide collect all sorts of gunk and you need a little brush to get in there and scrub it out. I would rather have a regular tub with a shower curtain way easier to maintain and less scrubbing

I highly recommend other type of tempered glass doors: look for a fixed glass panel with a hinged or pivot glass door.

Try using an old toothbrush on the tracks. It's small enough to get into the crevices.

I just wet my glass doors with water and wiped with a dryer sheet like Bounce then rinsed with water and wiped them dry with a cloth, it worked excellent.

Great tips for cleaning. Heres whst i did to help prevent the buildup. Putting in a filter shower head, and squeegee-ing the glass after each shower hss helped reduse residue dramatically. I also wipe some rain-x on the interior glass. In short... i actually clean my shower 1 a year. Lol.

Thank you so much! I tried the first option. My shower doors looked somewhat better, but I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the results. So, I tried the second option - Bar Keepers Friend. I already had the powdered version at home. So, I figured I’d try that with my blue non scratch sponge. It worked! My shower doors look as good as the day they were installed!

We also use steamers. The steamer for the floors, my unit, will break apart to a hand carry unit. We steam the tile and glass. It does melt off the soap scum and helps loosen the buildup. When it is really bad a double whammy instead of just elbow grease, helps out a lot. Same with toilets. Hot water in the bowl to scrub the bowl, empty the bowl and then steam under the rim along with the water line. Oxiclean in the tank to soak then flush! Keeps that pup sparkling!!

I use mixture half water half vinegar and fabric softener sheets. I spray on then wipe off with the fabric sheet and rinse. Sounds crazy but it works!

Im a professional cleaner and i use a metal pan scrubber on chrome and glass and it does an amazing job makes everything shine without any scratches gets rid of the hard water so quick.

One caution: Don't use anything with an acid on real marble. I have real marble tiles on the floor of my shower and keep it nice using just Dawn liquid (the tiles have been sealed) but would never use vinegar or any other acidic cleaner on it. I have glass shower doors too and they're easy to keep clean if you just squeegee them after showering. For any buildup, Dawn and a Mr Clean Magic Eraser will do the job nicely without any nasty chemicals.

I worked with Merry Maids a very long time ago and we used SOS pads and they were pretty good also I remember a time when one of the girls didn't want to scrub the tub because it was REALLY BAD she said I'm gonna use something it was her secret she put Oven off and that stuff in the shower tub literally melted off without having to scrub anything I mean I couldn't believe it. It was like a brand new tub and shower

I have really hard water and I’m not into doing a lot of scrubbing. I use Lime-Away gel spray. The gel is great at sticking to the glass and not running off like water. Let it soak on there for 30 minutes then scrub off with scrub daddy. Rain x works well but sometimes gets smeary when using glass cleaner.

Hi Brandon, So I started to clean residential houses on my own; I have a year doing this. I can't figure out how to leave the glass shower doors spotless. I mean, there are thousands of cleaning products out there.The glass shower doors are covered on hard water spots and calcium. In the area we leave, there are a lot of hard water problems . I use a bi of Nu-Finish car polish on a damp microfibre cloth. I wipe it on, let it dry and use a clean microfibre towel to remove the film. Works like a charm.

wow rainex, would not have thought of that - I remember "waxing sinks" when I must have just had too much pride or time. my recent tip has been to use a car grade (it absorbs well with "good wringing out volume" microfiber, I leave it in the shower as you want it soaking wet by the end. I wring it out .. go over the main we areas until it is full of water, wring it and do the final once over .. wring and hang.

Steel wool grade 0000 works perfectly on vintage stainless steel, like a toaster or a toaster oven. Removes that stubborn hardened brown grease without scratching. I have both of these appliances, and steel wool makes them shine. Ammonia is great for fingerprints, too.

Thanks! I have a toaster oven that has this exact problem, and I haven’t been able to find anything to clean it with because it says don’t use oven cleaner (because it’s aluminum). I will be getting some of the 0000 stainless steel and trying it out

If anyone still can't get those troublesome hard water spots out (Like on my Shower Doors) as suggested in this video use Steel Wool Grade 0000. This was suggested also as a last resort but with the doors wet. I tried everything in this video and nothing worked. When I used the steel wool, dry, on the doors, also dry, that took the stubborn spots out. A lot of scrubbing with the steel wool but the spots all came out and no damage to the glass. After that I used a spray on car wax to put some repellent on the doors to try and avoid those spots from building up again.

I will try this, I did all the steps in the video and still have hard water spots. I live it Florida, it's a night mare. We had a soft water system put in years ago, but when it went out, we didn't replace it. I'm seriously thinking of doing so.

@@jerrikaytv Since doing the initial cleanse to get all the spots off I've managed to keep them off. Typically after a shower the best thing thing to do is squeegee the doors but even I don't do that every day. I will do it on the weekend when I have more time. I've used the steel wool a couple of more times if some spots reform but it's been nothing like the spots I had. Also, I have a spray bottle set up with water and some Jet Dri liquid mixed in. Spray that on the glass and then squeegee it clean to help repel the water spots. As of now my glass doors are still clean and spotless.

Great ideas. When using sprays other than water, let them sit for a while. Spray, spread it on and continue to clean another area of the bathroom. When you come back to the sprayed area it won't need half as much scrubbing.

There is a glass treatment called Enduro Sheild. If you treat your shower glass with that, no more hard water spots. It is designed for pool glass surrounds, but is miraculous on showers.

In the auto painting industry 0000, or four aught, steel wool is what we used to perfectly clean car glass all the way around the car after painting to make sure the windows were spotless. It has to be 0000.

Instead of Rain-X try Turtle Wax ICE Seal & Shine for the glass. It last longer unless cleaned with either method 2 or 3 😂. Plus great to use on the cars too!

If the first method doesn't work I use a mix of Isopropyl Alcohol (Isopropanol) and dishwashing liquid. I would use a nylon scourer rather than a steel one. the same mix is excellent for cleaning grout between tiles -use an old toothbrush to scrub it. i use Rain-X too!

Speaking of shame ourselves our shower grass , I tried cleaning with your recommended Bar keepers friend liquid soap with Scrab daddy sponge that I got from Amazon. Yes , I did cleaned most of that , but unfortunately I have to next step cleaning solution with 0000 steal wool for bottom of shower grass. Pretty much so far good. I really likes about scrab daddy sponge are so great! I should known more before ! I 've been using at Kitchen . It is so nice to work with especially oil stuff. Scraper blade for the glass, brush for the grooves and other little corners. If the silicone is black and doesn't wash off, then remove silicone and apply new. You can try peroxide before doing that, if you'd like. After each use, use the squeegee and wipe with a dry old cloth to avoid build-up.

I use quad aught steel wool with straight Lime-a-way. I use paper towels saturated with the Lime-a-way spray. Leave the saturated paper towels on the glass going back to spray if need be. Then peel from top to bottom scouring with the quad aught steel wool - Wax-on, Wax-off - circles, vertical and horizontal, then diagonal back to circular. I only do this on the nastiest of nasty glass, such as windows where exterior sprinklers have sprayed for years and years. Don't laugh as you know who you are and it's me who's helped you! This works on windshields, too!

I wish you could elaborate more on the "wipe down with a microfiber" part. I cannot seem to get the glass perfectly clear and streak free no matter how I wipe it or with what cloth. Microfiber leaves fuzz, dust, and hair, and does not remove enough residue to get a clear, streak free appearance for me. Any tips?
