I bought Yeonmi's book a few months ago and it's such a good read. I found her on youtube and I was so fascinated by all the content she shared. It really is frustrating how a genocide similar to WW2 is happening in current time and there's not much we can do about it.

I know! I can't believe there are like at least 4 major genocides going on in the world in PRESENT DAY. It's like.. we went to war for it once, but it seems that since the countries doing it today are keeping it in their borders, governments just seem to be letting it slide (also economy seems to be a big decider too unfortunately..)

Yeonmi has been caught lying many times and her stories about North Korea are not credible. She makes a lot of money from speaking engagements so it benefits her to play up her story. My dad grew up in NK and left before the war and the things that are happening the country are devastating, but there are a lot of opportunistic people that are being used by the US as propaganda. Please look more into the history of why North Korea is the way it is. US imperialism and meddling is not the answer.

I’ve read In Order to Live! I actually had to take breaks a few times because it was just so heartbreaking. It was eye opening and gut wrenching at the same time. It’s definitely given me a greater appreciation for the life I have. My heart aches so much for Yeon Mi, her mom, and those that are still in the clutches of North Korea.

Hey Jenn 😊 - It would be quite fascinating to read back on the journal entry a year from now. I have found it very interesting to look back on journal entries, letters to myself etc. You made me giggle when you were going through the baby clothes, I am sure they will fit him fine, although they grow super fast. I adored the clothes Joan sent (saw it via instagram) so cute! 🤰🏻🤱🏻👶🏻 And yes unfortunately knowing when you will actually go into labour isn't like launching a collection where you have full control 🤣 however I do hope that you come on or around your due date. I have always been in awe of how women can grow a baby inside of them, give birth and then do everything that comes after. Your perspective change conversation with your therapist really resonated with me. I’m not growing another human but I’m fighting chronic late stage Lyme disease and it can leave me feeling weak and frustrated by my body’s perceived limitations but it isn’t really that I’m weak- I’ve had to be incredibly strong to fight this disease, I just don’t usually see it that way. I’m sure so many people have said this but Enjoyyyy your last few weeks and give yourself lots of grace! When Baby Boy arrives it’s a whole new world but in a wonderful way. Another tip (as someone with a 2month old) other than his coming home outfit, we mostly put our little one in Onesies/Footsies for the 1st month, the ones with the 2-Way Zips from Carter’s and Old Navy are affordable and easy access for all those diaper changes.

don't forget to listen to your body when you feel that fatigue and to take it slow. your body is forcing you to slow down for a reason. trust your body and trust the process. i know you want to "push yourself" to get things done, but you're growing a human being inside you, your body needs all the energy it can get, especially when it's time for the labor process to start. don't stress your body out too much.

A tip from a mom on sleep during that last month: Benadryl is pregnancy safe and helps you pass out. I would have slept 0 hours without it. I even took a tiny bit after my water broke to get some extra winks that morning before contractions started. 😴 Check with your doctor of course (!!) to be sure, but if they allow a dose here and there it HELPS so so so so much! Sending all the good vibes for a smooth journey and healthy mom + baby!

I still remember years ago when I found you on 8tracks then followed you here to your channel, and you're still a breath of fresh air. I really feel for you being tired, when I was pregnant last year no matter how much I slept I couldn't get enough rest, I was exhausted. You're almost there, just take it super easy one day at a time. After birth it gets little tough initially because you don't get to sleep in large chunks of time, at least for me that's how it went. big hugs to you, love you guys!
