Seriously - Lincoln has been around for awhile - I have seen a 2013 Infiniti M fan belt drop off in middle of the I95, I saw a 2014 Lexus ES on a tow truck at a food joint I frequent ( engine failure ) go figure - Now I admit American cars have been shit in the past - but today - they have stepped up their game quite a bit - I for one will buy american if I like the car - becaue they do measure up ( that's my opinion and I am sticking to it ) I have owned cars in this order 1986 Toyota MR2, 1989 Toyota Cressida, 1993 Mazda 626 Turbo, 1997 Nissan Maxima, 1997 Toyota Supra, 1999 Infiniti Q45, 2003 Nissan Maxima, 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, 2008 Ford Five Hundread, 2010 Ford Taurus. I liked them all - they equally had issues, they equally were the best. Can t compplain about that 1997 SUPRA - BEAST....... We all must see the imporvement and give automakers a chance to do better instead of BASHING and BULLYING them to the ground....

There is no such thing as "buying American" anymore, and anyone that thinks so is misinformed. Further, in today's global economy, it makes even less sense to say so.
@Mr21scott10 жыл бұрын
Just check the parts content in your "American" car, and see how "American" it is.

I've never been an American car fan, but if I were in the market for a luxury CUV, I would seriously consider this. Gorgeous inside and out with almost 300 hp from a 4-cylinder...way to go, Lincoln! (I still couldn't identify any of their other models.)
@unsensibleshoes667310 жыл бұрын
It is ironic that Lincoln, which has been around since 1917, now finds itself having to carve out a new market niche. I guess it was either that or go extinct. I am glad they're fighting to stay relevant.

Drove one of these recently; liked the ride and handling. Very quiet too. But somehow, they've messed up the gearing. At highway speeds, it feels (and sounds) like it needs one more upper gear. At 60 mph, it's turning just shy of 2000 rpm, which feels & sounds too high. The Ford Escapes I've driven with the 2.0T operating about 1650 rpm at 60 and stay under 2000 at 70. The MKC is screaming along at a little over 2200 rpm at 70. To this end, the trip computer showed 23 mpg at 60 mph, and 20.8 at 70. Ford needs to either go to an 8-speed with a higher final gear, or raise (numerically lower) the final drive ratio.

I'm actually a Lincoln and Cadillac fan. I've driven one and they are the epitome of American Luxury. However I don't think a car needs to be a full on media center on wheels...so I agree with all the connectivity setting and server nick-nacks. That stuff should be hidden for a smoother transition between media platforms.

MKC competes with Q5, RDX, NX, XC60, and SRX. They all have FWD and AWD in common. So far I think it will sell well. Just like the Escape, people will end up leasing this vehicle, because owning this will be expensive as owning a Land Rover and Jaguar, which Ford still shares parts with.

With the slower shifting transmission, the lack of aggression even in sport suspension mode, the comfortable seats, and "pains to look a cut above" the question of who Lincoln is marketing this to has been answered. That would include the cross shoppers mentioned looking for a comfortable, high-tech, stylish CUV with an emphasis on luxury and smoothness. Or buyers wishing to replace their Navigator without the need any longer for the size. Or mid-size luxury car owners desiring a taller vehicle.

it doesn't look bad for Lincoln it may be a 4 cylinder but it's turbo charged and has as much horse power as a v-8 did 10 years ago they could have done better with the torque though but most people who own expensive cars like that won't be towing with it anyway.
@PhuckHue29 жыл бұрын
load up some fatties in there it would be the same as towing a car. 4 fatties is 2,000 lbs

All haters SHUT UP! I admit that I love Fords but I detested Lincoln and wanted it to die off, but a recent test drive proved me wrong Sure in 2.3 EB form its expensive but the 2.0 turbo with all options will come around 42000 $ and with that price its way way way way better than the shitty new lexus NX, the CCD dampers are real treat as well, in comfort mode its super soft and glides over bad roads like over a mattress and normal is best of both worlds, sport mode is kind of use less and even Acura RDX which feels like a boat and infotainment system is a mess inside, 2 many screens and buttons and Infinity is good but not compact as I expected This is a new and a better Lincoln that one can own, sure its no way better than German rivals Q3,Q5,X3,GL etc but sure equal to or better than Japanese rivals
