Oceangate skipped every possible safety regulation, and blatantly ignored all warnings from experienced submarine experts. Oceangate conned wealthy passengers with "adventure tourism", using an incredibly dangerous submersible that had 0 escape features.

Stockton was so arrogant that he felt he would get away with it and become recognised as a ‘genuis’. But a quick glance at the studies shows that carbon fibre hulls were tested to destruction and found to eventually suffer implosion due to delamination and cycle fatigue. It’s not an ‘if’, but ‘when’. And carbon fibre will give you ZERO warning. It won’t show any signs of the cycle fatigue. It won’t make noise. It will just implode one day. We’ve know this since the early 90s.

@@vdav3254 working or not, it’s irrelevant. Carbon fibre composite doesn’t give you a warning. It will degrade inside, delaminating. But you won’t be able to see it or hear it. Without a full scan of the hull - which I’m not sure the technology exists for, for something that size, it will implode with zero warning. They wouldn’t have even known, minus maybe some minor creaking sounds less than a second before it implodes.

Stockton was clearly negligent. So many people tried to stop him but he was so stubborn and ignorant he pushed ahead. All they cared about was the money. They put all of those lives at risk intentionally. I hope they are able to find a way to stop these cowboys from ever doing something like this again. At least Stockton is deceased and cannot harm anyone else, but there would be other crazies out there who I believe would try to do this. Titanic is not a tourist destination. The depths that the wreck is located are so dangerous, no tourist operations should ever be allowed to go there.

The amount of warnings OceanGate's founder was given by multiple experts in writing is pretty crazy, but even more so is how blatantly and angrily he ignored them, knowingly skirted around multiple federal and international regulations, cut corners all over the place to save money, and blatantly lied to prospective passengers on the safety of the vessel. It's more symbolic than religious. The idea being you put up the most central part of your "self" as collateral for the promise of truthfulness. Putting up the physical self could constitute coersion, which is not beneficial to a fair justice system. Religious, Abrahamic language is just the traditional means to express that. Anyway, what a strange avenue to wedge your ideaology into. I thought most people left that kind of unprompted preaching behind back in 2011 or so. Never mind your description is both theologically and historically wrong, even from the most secular perspective.
