And I highly doubt Rand Paul is gonna do anything productive, seeing that he's whining about Judge Roberts rejecting his written question because it included the name of a person accused of being the whistle-blower. 2. Our Governor (Andy Beshear - D) barely won by a little over 5000 votes, and that was mostly because our former Governor, Matt Bevins - R, screwed over state worker's and teacher's pensions. Bevins had also admitted to using tax payer money to pay for private plane trips, totaling Millions of dollars, while telling taxpayers it was "none of their business". That alone should tell you something about Kentucky voters. Republicans hold a Super Majority in the State General Assembly (Senate: 29 to 9, House: 61 to 37, with 2 vacant seats). I'm still gonna cast my vote, though. Even if it doesn't affect the outcome, I'll at least know I did my part and voted against Trump AND McConnell. Essentially: "Trump believes his re-election is in the Public Interest, and thus Trump's *intent* was to serve the Public Interest". Dershowitz is an interesting case. He doesn't actually support Trump and is on record saying he would be personally hurt if he got acquitted, but he also has a particular interpretation of the constitution (not surprising, lots of legal professionals do) which he now has to reconcile with defending the indefensible. I feel like Dershowitz is self-aware enough to know he's making an absurd argument. He's just doing it because he has to. Just like how even a serial killer who left 20 confession notes, showed detailed and calculated plans, and led police to all the bodies, still has to have a defense attorney try to make _some_ sort of argument.

@Ima Notel am I the only one who is wondering why this person used these different descriptions for the dem party when everything you just said also qualifies for the Republican party as well honestly both parties aren't squeaky clean as well and I think everyone knows that now in America. Well George Washington himself warned about party systems being in charge of America democracy and it is clear that he was right. Honestly I give it another few years until China becomes the Global Superpower over America because the state of the country cannot be repaired whether Trump is impeached or not( not aligned with any party but even I believe trump finds a way out of this) this country can never trust or view it's government the same way again

Now lets see if you can figure out how this example is relevant to the "Quid pro quo" argument.
