I’ve been looking to buy this knive in 3v. Midway USA has it in 3v fde or od for hundred bucks, but it’s made in Taiwan. Cold steel is two hundred fifty bucks and American made. Is there a big difference cause I want to buy the best one. Thanks

@nathanposey2034 Glad I saw this. GSM (parent company of CS) doesn’t make anything in the US as far as I know. The 3V was made in Taiwan , then Italy, and now Taiwan again. Can’t speak of the new offerings but the original Taiwanese made blade was awesome. Thanks for watching

Flat grind and sabre grind are really only 2 halves of a proper description of a grind. As in, "full flat" or "hollow sabre." This particular SRK would be a flat sabre grind.

Nice knife and great quality, but for the price you can get a Fallkniven S1 Pro with the new laminated CoS steel. That’s the price if you just get the knife itself and not the waterproof box and sharpener package. For a beat to hell camp knife I still have a Cold Steel Trailmaster as well. There's a lot of uncertainty about GSM Outdoors purchase of Cold Steel. Do they end up with no name steel in clam shell packaging at the large box stores, Or something in-between? Time will tell. I love a lot of the Cold Steel fixed blades. Especially SRK, Master Hunter, Pendleton hunter, Trailmaster, Recon Scout, And Magnum Tanto. Thanks for watching my friend

I'm a little weiry about buying certain things from Amazon such as a higher end knife. I've read about the knock offs that are out there, it's not just Cold Steel it's everyone. I'd rather pay more knowing I'm getting the real deal than a cheaper knock off. Just my personal opinion. Their fantastic knives.
@knifevideochannel46574 ай бұрын
Valid opinion! I’ve bought probably 50 knives off Amazon since 2017 and never had a fake! Of course I only buy when it’s prime (free returns) so I can send it back if it’s a knockoff. Thanks for watching

I've had both srks in 3v bought the new one in the 130ish price point and it was a bargain. I'd still pay 200 but that is a lot for a knife

Amazon had it for $128 just 3-4 months ago, At beginning of Covid, Which is when I bought this one. When researching pricing for video I noticed the $200 range at 3 or 4 different vendors including Amazon. After I uploaded the video I saw Knife Center had a Pre order for $145 , So I added that to description section. $140-$150 would be the sweet spot, But your right, I'd pay $200. Thanks for watching

Whatever you do, don't put a convex edge, on the primary cutting edge, cold steel will void the warranty. Even though it gives a stronger edge, it voids your warranty if anything happens with the knife.

Thanks for the tip John, Weird why CS voids the warranty? !? Thanks for watching
@johnmutton7994 жыл бұрын
@@knifevideochannel4657 i tell people because i have had two warcraft tanto's and both had faults in the steel. But because i put a convex edge on it. They will not cover the warranty. Cpm3v is not what they always make it out to be.
@knifevideochannel46574 жыл бұрын
I've read reports of failures (maybe heat treat) of both the Taiwanese and Italian made 3V SRK. Overheating the edge during grinding usually causes chips, Blade failures are HT?!? Hoping this stonewashed version is solid.
