Yummmmm! Good to know about Liquid Smoke- that’s a new addition for me. I love onion & garlic too. Recently I started adding a chopped onion, sautéed in an iron skillet with a little butter, at the end of cooking my greens. My grandma taught me to “ put a lil sugar & salt in everything”. I also found a Ham-based Better than Bullion for those who don’t have pork restrictions. I use it & the chicken. Thank you for your hard work & easy to understand directions!

Was happy to see that you freeze your greens.... my sisters don't. I had cooked some collards one year, and it snowed, that was too much work to throw them away, so I froze them and months later when I saw them in the freezer, I heated them up... and tasted them and started crying.... because they were going to be gone. Now, I freeze them all the time.

Hi Miss Donna good night this is Jenifer the no great American cook. Thank you soooooo much for this Collard green recipe. I have never heard or seen that leafy vegetable growing up in my country. when I came to this country years ago the only thing I heard about it is that it was bitter. I have never eaten it or tried to cook. Last Monday a friend who does organic gardening gave me a bundle and told me to go home and cook it .I protested telling he I didn't know what to do with it. I left it in the fridge until friday. Not wanting it to spoil and be thrown away I went on KZbin put your name in with how to cook collard greens. Thank you Thank you Thank you it was a hit. My husband is enjoying every bit of it. You are a wonderful teacher and I am officially calling you my big sister. I love you sis thanks again for all your help. Please say hi to Dude # 1.

I love live collard greens cleaning not so much, but if they aren't cleaning GOOD eating grit is a bust. I like to use pork but now I have family friends that don't eat pork so I use smoked turkey legs or wings. I just learned in 2023 that you are a pastors wife which I wasn't too surprised cause you indeed have such a sweet presence. I enjoy watching you in the kitchen and do like when its time for your hubby to taste n eat 😀
