It could have been handled differently, hiding the person's identity effectively to meet the requirements of the different direction they took and still keeping some of the original look and feel instead of the speedster version of Bay's Megatron they came up with. I won't lie - I felt quite disappointed by the results. There was a lot of thought put into the original design that most people isn't aware of, regardless of each particular person's like or dislike towards the end result. You can't please everybody.

@@monkeygamer6911 Maybe, but there's no need to mock and trash the original design, as the author of this video does, in order to praise a - very different - alternate version on a different medium. If you go to my facebook page, the picture on my profile's cover is an alternate, updated version of my own design that doesn't look, in my opinion, more or less silly that the average superpowered character's look and suit. Savitar's design was taylored to fit an specific set of story needs and also to pay a very self-aware homage to a series of classic tropes, and I stand proudly by the results without the slightest trace of shame. I rarely, if ever, boast about anything at all, and in fact I tend to do the complete opposite and be exceedingly discreet, but there's very few precious things that I take pride of in this life and one of them was drawing the Flash when I was nineteen years old and designing a villain that has become a classic, in spite of his very few appearances afterwards, when I was twenty. Also, I'm sure that the video's author still believes that my version of Savitar was a "travesty" while, most probably, thinking - like mostly everybody does, myself included - that classic Kratos from God of War fame is a cool-looking badass. The irony.

He was supposed to be a Pakistani military pilot, raised on a post-WWII Persian region country, educated as part of a Hinduist minority that was severely oppressed by the Muslim majority since 1947 and who, upon surviving a disastrous accident that should have disintegrated his body found himself instead graced with godlike powers and a physical and very prominent connection with the Speed Force, the huge scar on his chest, the Touch of God himself to his eyes. So, there we have a megalomaniac madman, leader of an army of zealots, who has created his own religion that mixes Hinduism with the Speed Force. How would have you designed it, if I may ask? Me, I took the task way more seriously, soaked in more historical and cultural references and put to it way more tought, attention to detail and effort than most people double my age and way more baggage over their shoulders would've bothered with. It's easy to mock the efforts of others while praising the shiny key-dangling of those that came later to modify or straight-up undo the work of the former >:(

One thing Captain Cold rarely gets credit for--he was the sole reason that Flash's Rogues weren't killers. Initially and for decades, murder was the line Cold would not cross and would not allow the Rogues to cross. And when that changed, all bets were off. By leaning into what little morality Snart had, Berlantiverse made a great 3-denominational character and allowed for the unlikely heroic change in Mick Rory.

@@romanf.9600 Not even like. In the comics, Reverse-Flash is more of a title given to the archenemy of a version of the Flash. The Rival is Jay Garrick's Reverse-Flash, Thawne is Barry's, Zoom is Wally's, and Inertia is Bart Allen's. Also, Thawne's comic name is Professor Zoom.

The CW took the reverse flash which by most was considered to be one of his goofiest villains and made him one of the greatest villains of all time, Zoom was a great (somewhat) original character and I was scared shitless whenever he was onscreen. Savitar’s CGI appearance and voice made him very intimidating, however when they made an actual suit for him he looked like he gained 250lbs and his entire character motive was thrown in the blender. The Thinker was an incredibly goofy villain in which no one was actually scared of him, this time he had a good actor. Cicada was cool until his daughter showed up and she was the most predictable antagonist on the entire show. Bloodwork was pretty cool and I thought they did well with the budget they had for him. In short, Thawne and Zoom are great, Savitar WAS good, Thinker was boring and generic, Cicada WAS good, and Bloodwork was alright.

Savitar was actually a mix between Savitar and future flash. That is why it was poorly received, even though I still love Savitar. And I don't think grodd was nerfed just budgeted. And yeah I loved season 4 too why people don't like it I have no idea.

Savitar wasn't poorly received for being mixed with the Future Flash, he was poorly received because of his identity reveal being too late and his time travel plot being unnecessarily confusing. The Future Flash aspect was probably the best part of his character, it just wasn't used enough.

The comic book versions are better. No challenge. No debate. The CW never developed the characters as much as the comics. Even Captain Cold. Who you said he was in the comics actually wasn't true. The comic version uses a custom homemade ice-ray to make breaking into stuff easier and without setting off alarms. It was never actually meant to be used as a weapon like most people seem to think. He also has an abusive history with his father which his sister was also involved with. That abusive history is also the same thing he had in common with Heat Wave, which lead to them becoming inseparable BFFs to their deaths. The fact that they where directly responsible for killing their own parents is the main reason they developed the no kill rule for the rogues after Captain Cold set to replace Mirror Master as leader. Mirror Master's real name in not to be mentioned by the rogues lightly because of him. Mirror Master was actually one of most dangerous villains in DC that even Flash himself couldn't deal with properly. Captain Cold beat him at his own game for the sake of the rest of the rogues, but most especially his sister's sake.
