Still not amazing, alternating incline press is by no means optimal for chest growth - what’s the point of alternating? Just puts more stress on your stability muscles, which don’t need anymore stress considering your using dumbbells anyway, hurting potential chest gains.

@@matthewsimmons2376 true, but then what are you training for? Because that sure as hell isn’t training strength. What about cardiovascular fitness, well then you’d be far better served going for incline walks or runs. What about strengthening joints? Great w/o routine, Matt, and as a (retired) personal trainer, here's a few tips on your incline DB press (I always referred to it as a static contraction press as opposed to alternating press, because you really want to keep the contraction strong on the static arm): for shoulder health, rotate your hands about 45 degrees to keep your elbows tighter to your body, and to get a little more out of it, push the thumb side of your hand up at the top of the movement to get the inner end of the DB higher than the outer end. And stay fucking funny!!!

Don't forget deep stretch at the bottom, another reason why alternative presses are a bit underrated. And yes, elbows tighter to the body can relieve a bit of the shoulder, but if you don't have shoulder problems, there's not much reason to tug the elbows, it's a compound exercise so you engage chest, shoulders and triceps anyway and when he only has one shoulder day it's nice to hit shoulders a bit through chest press too, so he hits shoulders twice per week.
@wasichuwacanta7010 Жыл бұрын
@@AirJordan-ko5mh Agreed, and I've had shoulder issues for about 20 years! Recently retired after over 42 years in the gym business (manager, director of PT, personal trainer and Spinning and BodySculpt instructor) , and I think my shoulder issues are due to behind the neck pull downs, military presses, and tricep extensions, as well as not keeping my elbows in on bench press. I'm 70 now, built a pretty complete home gym (closest gym is 75 miles away) and still do 3 on, 1 off, and still love it!

Pretty good advice Matt. My personal trainer is my lifeline I swear. I could sleep in but not when I know she is expecting me to be there at the gym, I gotta go. I gotta get up. Whatever you have to do to make it happen, do it. I used to think I had to do it all alone, if you need to hire a trainer, just do it. Do it for you, find a way, make it happen. It is so so so worth it. Physical health yes, but also mental health. Get it done. every day.

No it shouldn't@@KyleDoesEverything You can easily hit all in one day. Pull ups or pulldowns hits both back and biceps, deadlifts hits both back and legs etc. So you can easily pick exercises that hits these mucles at the same time: Deadlift x 2 Pull-ups x 2 Leg curls or extensions x 2 BB row or One arm DB row x 2 Calf raises x 1 dropset Bicep curl x 1 dropset Just an example. It's EASY. His program is fine. Austin most likely suffers from what most of us suffer from, we hate leg day, so we add them on other days. I do legs twice, but on days I also do other body parts. Austin could easily do that too.
