@Oners82 you don't really think about if you grow up with that method. my uncle in morocco did this as well. he said this is the only way to check. i asked him "what if it's leaking gas?" he paused minute and said with a serious face, "it explodes" i asked him "what would happen to the roof and us if it did explode?" he said "we die" and started laughing. he said he never really thought about it. i told him the soap method and that's what he uses now.

@@aymanm.8462 well it's not really the case, for an explosion to occur the can should be about 50%of pressurized oxygen, putting a flame next to the connection means that should a leak be present, it will only light up, the flames cannot physically burn inside the can. Think about it like this : the actual stove is nothing but a controlled leak, or else it would have had the same result: explosions all day long 😂😂

We do a testing of our gas tank here in Jamaica also, the difference though is that we use soapy water, if it bubbles then the connection needs adjustments. LOTS OF LOVE FROM KINGSTON JAMAICA.

@@minsooky1341yeah… it was a mammoth ammonium nitrate dumped inside that Container which everyone(Govt Officials) decided to Ignore for months and months on end. I’m not sure but I heard they also dumped some more highly flammable materials near the ammonia nitrate dump because, well, there was already tonnes of highly flammable and explosive material so what could go wrong 😮

We do the axact same thing with the gas canisters. We call them gas cylinders here, and to see if it isnt leaking gas, we lite a match stick and put it close to the HEAD of the cylinder where the pipes meet. !
