I am so pissed with them. No wonder they were insistent on having everything be in Spider-Man four. Beyond the spider verse was their chance to make over $1 billion and they screw this up. And they wonder why they constantly keep on failing it’s these decisions that’s making Sony go down this downfall. seriously though, is there something in the Sony-Marvel Spiderman IP contract that says how and when the rights can revert back to Marvel? i mean honestly this is like poison to the Spiderman IP, Sony will keep pumping out Spiderman related stuff even if its animation with little to no regard to quality if thats the main stipulation that allows them to keep the IP. we cant keep hoping for Disney to buy out studios that holds Marvel IP-- i always thought we got LUCKY when 20th Century Fox was let go and Marvel managed to get all the XMen IPs. but this Sony thing is the real battle, how can Disney extricate the Spiderman IPs with reasonable cost without having to buy out the entire rival studio-- which in and of itself is also a conglomerate with deep (deeper?) pockets?

If the studio that held the rights were bought by another studio, the rights will be automatically reverted back to Marvel. So I'm assuming this means Noir is probably going to be the only project that ends up potentially materializing from this whole thing. A while back Lord and Miller did say they were exploring animated TV projects specifically spinning off from Spider-Verse but recently during Across' press junkets they've been confirming that Beyond is the last Spider-Verse project they're going to be involved with. Couple that with the fact that there seems to be no Sony film projects in active development beyond Kraven and Venom 3 and I'm crossing my fingers this potentially means Sony is just stopping their whole push to have an adjacent Spider-Man thing running concurrently with the MCU because none of these other characters had the pull of Venom, and even then LTBC ended up making way less than the first film which was propped up especially by its Chinese reception. Literally no one wants Sinister Six to happen outside the context of a Spider-Man movie lol
