just turned twenty and im so grateful to have found Made it Out. its not easy to find people who make you feel understood and hear people discuss topics that you resonate with as a lesbian, but you somehow manage to hit the mark every episode. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Happy Birthday 🎉 🎂 🌈✨️🧡 As much as I wish Made it Out and so many other valuable resources were available when I was 20, I'm so happy you & other young lesbians/queers have this 💖

I love how much this episode was about just being your own self in your fashion, the queer commuinty where I live has such a specific way to "dress and be gay" and I find it so annoying because I don't fit into a style box, I never have. Its nice to know there is no "right" way to dress or no "right" way to be gay

30:46 I feel like if you don’t want to be too butch, but also don’t want to be too femme, a jumpsuit is a good option. But finding a good one that is formal enough is the hard part.

I love this topic n to hear she uses Jacob as a jumping point for clothes instead of all the time using another woman. Love it.

I'm trying to figure out my style and feelings about it, finding yourself through clothes. This ep helped a lot! Thanks for the release! This ep is exactly what I needed right now 🥰

That was sooo much excellent advice! Like, Kej said she doesn't have it all figured out, yet she had such a competent, detailed and informative answer to every single one of Mal's questions. I'm hella impressed. 🙌❤️🙏

I needed this video so much! I’m a 29 years old, freshly out bi/lesbian French woman, in between two chapters of my life with all of my clothes in three suitcases and an urging feeling to figure out my style and buy new clothes! I legit booked a 5 days trip to Paris with my cousin two days ago just to shop new clothes! AND I’m invited to a wedding in July and was nervous about what to wear 😂 I related so much to this conversation and I feel so much more inspired now, to enter this new chapter of my life ☺️

I have the same problem with the suit, I am 5'3 as well. You have to find a jacket that is not that classic fit, like long sleeves and cropped top/ long top and shorter sleeves. And also, get them tailored to you body, with you find something that's good on the sleeves but not good on the torso you can take to the tailor to make the hole piece come together... Also, thrift shops are very good for making you get over numbers, if you like something and it's cheap you can make anything work. ❤

Not the Google sheet, lol! That was so intense but I’m that person tbh. Now I wonder if Kej is a planner by profession because that Google sheet was hella impressive. 😂

Love the show. A friend asked why I felt the patriarchy more acutely than straight women. This is one of the reasons.

This is super interesting. I believe it’s really where you’re shopping and how open minded people are to style. Gay or not. I was shopping for a suit and I was in the men’s section asking for assistance and the workers were like you’re not supposed to be here you’re a woman. I’ve constantly been shut down for how I present myself and referred somewhere else or just not accepted. Which presents itself as a barrier. Which I realized not many people around me face. I love the way I dress. I find going out in public and searching for the style particularly asking associates to help never really aided me. This is in reference to 22:37. I hope a mass amount of acceptance of expression is considered and safer spaces can be provided all around. Thanks for sharing ❤

This ep was overwhelming...in a good way. I learnt a lot about style/fashion as I'm still figuring that out as sum1 who leans more tomboyish. On the topic of weddings, I love the middle ground option Kej was talking about. So many gems to take away from this ep. Wait Mal, the musical episode is where Greys Anatomy lost you?🤣 Come on you gotta give allowance for that one musical ep (said by someone that doesn't like musicals)😂

Interesting topic - I think you have to be careful about wearing colors that wash you out, even if you love the colors…Is it common in the US to wear hats indoors?
