Many years ago my wife and I joined a queer Latin women’s group. It was nice the first few outings but then some women in the group turned out to be catty and competitive. It was an unpleasant experience. All of our friends are straight and although we love them, we hope to make friendships with queer women, particularly other couples in committed relationships. I’m actually really considering starting a couples group but I’m not sure how to begin. Keeping hope alive in NJ!

Hey! I am a constant podcast listener but this one blew my mind. I find myself waiting for a new one every time-it's become a highlight for me. I love the way you share your experiences; it makes me feel a genuine connection, even though our upbringings and countries may be very different. Greetings from Colombia!

Same!! I'm from Croatia and it's crazy to think it's had a similar effect on me from so far away. I think the personal stories they tell and are hilarious imo are the reason why it's so fun to watch. I don't know how I came across this podcast but it's slowly becoming my go to thing to watch before bed. 🥰

I wish I was your mother because I would love you and accept you no matter what happens while you figured it out. The worst thing you could do would be to be marry a man instead of exploring this. Don't try to live a safe, "normal" life. It's YOUR life and it's the only one you've got. ❤

Interesting to see that it is sort of the same thing all over the world. Nice to see someone that obviously has some experience of the gay life and just life in general and who is obviously also a highly sensitive human that still resort to a fabolously quirky sense of humor to navigate through these topics without making it too serious while still bringing home the more serious messages, and seemingly universal messages in here. Greetings from South Africa. Thanks for a fantastic podcast !

Not sure what "exploring" one's sexuality is. Growing up, and now, I always found girls attractive. A small percentage of people find same sex attractive. It's not like visiting different countries, exploring, to see which you like best.
@hiruki87 ай бұрын
Not entirely certain we're actually that small of a percentage. It's stigmatized so a lot of people won't admit it or are in denial. Plenty of people don't even REALIZE the reason their love life sucks is because they're in a het relationship but they're actually same sex attracted. All these late bloomer lesbians who really didn't know exist. It's going to get easier as time goes on

I wish you would do a podcast about older women who are coming out. I'm in my early 50's and have left a LONG marriage because I was so very sad and unhappy with him. (He's a good man. A good husband even ... Just that he's a man and I actually am not attracted to men. ) He's not right for ME. I don't know anyone who has come out in their 50s or know of anyone who has air quotes changed teams this late in life. I feel so lonely and I have imposter syndrome and I feel like I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life. Clearly I have issues and would love to hear other people's experiences with this. Surely I can't be the only one

You know the old adage, "it's a gay gay world". Well, that's why guys have 'Footy' and 'drinks with the boy's' and girls have 'girl's night's out' and so on, because (and I know I'll get burnt at the stake for saying this) but like it or not, there's a little bit of gay in all of us. And Lexi's comment about the interconnectedness of a group of lesbian's past and present dating relationships reminds me so much of Lesha Healy's L Word character's 'Sex Board'.

The best advice I've ever seen about this is to not fuck inside the circle, which is basically what Lexi is saying lol. Because if you do, especially as a new person to the group, you're always going to piss someone off (an ex or someone else who is interested) or cause drama or, if the relationship ends and you were the newcomer, you're now out and you've lost the community you just got. So it's best to fuck as far outside the circle as possible- which can be tricky but is def worth it lol.

Lexi was so much fun to listen too. x If you'd asked me before this episode if I'm one of life's organisers I would have laughed hysterically at just the idea of me being able to get my shit together. Now after this episode and thinking back about before I was out, juggling two lives while most my friends were struggling with just one... yep I can organise all right. 😊 Bloody exhausting way to live though, glad I got to leave all those secrets & lies behind and the greatest of respect to those unable to make it out. x Oh and did I somehow miss how Heather took Lexi coming out?
