I’m loving how frequent these collection videos have been so far, great when I see them pop up. I hardly own any of these games. Like you, back then I though SF2 was great but now find it totally unplayable, as is SSF2 Turbo. But with The New Challengers (the playable one) there is an A500 version and an A1200 version, the AGA one lets you use CD32 pad so actually plays just like the console versions but with terrible graphics and music (they apparently ported the assets). None of which matters when you can access the arcade version, the console versions, the modern ports etc, but it mattered to me in the mid 90’s (although I didn’t have a hard drive back then so was still killed by disk swopping).

Get used to it buddy, I’ve got the next 5 episodes recorded, edited and uploaded ready to drop, and the 3 after that just need a quick edit, still got to record the Psygnosis collection, saving that one for last... Ouch wasn’t the AGA version 7 disks🙈

That's a great collection you have there, love those big boxes, and they look fantastic all displayed together. In the 80's I personally never had any of the early computers that had these arcade ports, we had an NES and a Genesis in the 80's, but my dad bought a Packard Bell in the early 90's which was my first introduction to gaming on a personal computer, and I really have fond memories of the old dos and windows FPS games and point and click adventures. I still have a lot of the big box pc games by Lucasarts from back then, so although I'm not hugely familiar with the Amiga, I definitely can appreciate those large cardboard boxes. I love that artwork on them even if the games aren't that great as you say. I never played any of these ports to the Amiga of course, but have seen some vids, so I'll take your word for it based on what I have seen of some of the games, in terms of them not always being the best ports, haha. Nice video mate, enjoyed it!

Thanks buddy, must admit when it comes to arcade ports you were a lot better off with the consoles, the developers for the Amiga was just so lazy with them, there are a few classics but just not with Sega and Capcom, some decent Taito ports made it across, Newzealand Story and Toki...but we’ll come to those in the next video from games published by Ocean. Didn’t realise I had so many Amiga games, I’m up to 15 videos I’m drip feeding😳

Hey Steve! Another cracking video mate full of nostalgia and love for the Amiga! 😍 Those boxes do look great stacked up with the correct colour coding 👌 Some bad games in among that lot though isn't there. I remember smashing the Turbo Out Run disks against the wall in frustration as it has hideous sprite detection. I love Crack Down though and recently completed it on the Atari ST. Last Battle is bloody hard to find! You got a bargain there mate with that one!

Cheers dude, definitely the best thing about most of these, somebody did an amazing port of Rygar last year on the Amiga, a lot of these should’ve been so much better

I think I played a demo of Mega Twins or a copied disk perhaps back in the day.....I definitely remember the artwork from the magazines though so as a result it holds a nostalgic connection. It's one of many on my want list, it's never bloody ending haha I remember playing Super Street Fighter II on my A500 in....whenever it came out I suppose, '95?..... yeah, just miles behind the SNES and Mega Drive versions.

Agree with you mate the orange and purple coloured boxes display really well. A lot of classic games there that have been popular throughout the years, but such a shame they aren't good sports on the Amiga. Haha I had the same feeling with Return of the Jedi that you had with Turbo Outrun. I could gave swore it was great and I really enjoyed it as a kid. But now I think it is poor having played it.

Great collection Steve. It’s a great shame a lot of the arcade game conversions were lazy/rush jobs by the software houses. The Amiga was certainly capable (arguably more so than the 16 bit consoles of the time, as shown by many of the computer versions of home market multi plat games).

Fine collection there sir. I like them long box versions too although the games aren't always great. I don't reckon 1943 did get a full release. Never seen it. Might have to hire a van and pop around to do some shopping 😁

Really enjoyed this Steve. So many blasts from the past in this lot, loads I had myself back then. In my opinion the Amiga wasn't good at many arcade ports, infact there's quite a few in here that are better on the speccy ha ha hd ha, like you say though when we originally owned them we thought they were all pretty much fantastic. Good stuff mate

Another awesome collection mate, super hang on was awesome, loved it on the zx spectrum and the Amiga. Not sure if I ever played space harrier on the Amiga, is it a good version? Love that arcade smash hits collection, can't beat a big box 😍. Commando is awesome on the speccy.

The original Space Harrier isn’t great but I have fond memories of the Sequel that can’t be erased, the Amiga version had a level select so you could see all the different stages, quite liked that Cheers David👍

I think I’ve got all the medium us gold sega boxes I believe g loc and alien storm got big orange box releases, none are hard to get though really

Great video Steve and loads of hits of nostalgia. Yeah I don’t think some of these games translated well to the home computers. I blame that on lazy programmers and the fact that we’re only working with one the one fire button. Though in the right hands some games came out great. I was thinking if you had Enduro Racer? I can’t recall if you showed it or not. That was a great conversion by Elite if I remember.

Are you ready! to be disapointed by amiga versions, Mega twins isn't to bad if you havn't played the mega drive version. Some lovely artwork on these. And the advertising and box art for bonaza bros was pretty great. The game isn't to bad a port on the amiga.

What joystick do you use for Amiga games?

I use a power play cruiser, I’ve got around 8 of them😂all the different variants, as well as the one I had as a kid, I love them, I do own a couple of zip sticks and a comp pro but not as comfortable imo. I also use a monster stick for 2 button shooters....what’s your stick of choice?

Excellent stuff yet again. 1943 on the amiga, kixx edition is going for 70 pounds mark. Street fighter f*#&ing sucks lol

Just checked those 2 on eBay, crazy prices! They’ll never sell, I paid around £8 around 3 months ago...I’ve even seen it not sell in an eBay auction with a £5 starting price😂😂

My parents gave it to me😂 Nah it comes from an old Williams game called Sinistar, check it out👍
