Don't really get the point in zoning in on the government. Fact is that the majority of shootings in the USA is committed by civilians. People dying for no reason other than the superstitious belief that Americans need to live by a piece of tea stained parchment that controls you to live like civilians did 244 years ago. Living in fear that your government is going to turn against you is no way to live especially when it is referred to the country as, what is it.... "the land of the free and home of the brave". Probably "land of cowards and home of the insecure".

As a female I wanted to own a gun. I always knew there were background checks but I found out in the state of Maryland you have to go through a 4 hour training class. Which I am excited to be doing in 2 weeks. To carry you need a 16 hour training class. Which I will do once I get my gun. I think what the left wants is crazy and helps nothing.

The only problem with those systems is if you need a gun urgently (ie you’re being stalked, threatened) and police choose to ignore or dismiss your claims rather than preemptively act. They could be on budget restraints

@@AntonioCunningham for a handgun she means, in maryland you have to get a handgun qualification license which essentially trains you the differences between pistols and revolvers and the types of ammunition and what not. And that's fine I can understand that, but afterwards when you buy a pistol you have to be approved and the gun has to be registered by maryland state police, and you aren't allowed to carry the weapon outside of your property without a carry permit, which they're really iffy about giving out unless you're security or have a business. Rifles and shotguns are able to be purchased in maryland and don't have to be registered, and don't need permits to carry.

We all have certain beliefs when we’re young and we haven’t truly experienced “adulthood” (meaning working full time, earning a living, supporting ourselves and our families, paying taxes, and just trying to make it through the day, everyday) and those beliefs and opinions often change the older we get. Ever heard of the ATF? How about NICS? This kind of nonsense is why gun control advocates cant be taken seriously, you advocate for current laws as if you’re presenting a solution. Theres thousands of state and federal laws related to firearms from requiring training to verifying ability to purchase. The issue is enforcement, as in most firearms used in crimes come from the black market like straw buyers. Go after criminals and stop only targeting law abiding citizens

As a veteran, I can honestly say that there are a LOT of veterans who avoid seeking mental health treatment because they are worried about their rights being taken away. I can also tell you that the second I reported having a mental health concern (PTSD and depression), the military made it to where I was not allowed to carry a weapon. This was only for a short time, I guess until they figured out that I wasn't considering committing mass murder, but it was automatic. Imagine if the Federal gov was able to take away your rights the second you sought treatment? I know I wouldn't have. And I believe that part of the suicide epedimic in the military is caused by the stigmas associated with seeking treatment, and the risk of being flagged.

So 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 roughly are "ghost guns" but that doesn't mean we should restrict or ban it, since 80% are legally purchased but often stolen out of unlocked cars and homes (90% of guns used from crimes in CA are accessed this way)

As someone who grew up in America and now lives in a country/continent which outlawed guns, I can safely say America could never achieve this. Australia is lucky to be surrounded by water as we have a far lower risk of illegal gun trafficking, but given the corruption in America and being bordered to two other countries with different sets of laws, the result would be a significant increase in illegal gun trafficking to the peoplethat dhouldnt have them. For reference, I am a veteran and I am NOT pro gun. I'm just a realist. Happy to be in a country where guns can be outlawed effectively and hope it stays that way 😊
