NinjaWarriorDude I used to think the same thing. Thought the new wheels looked lame. Went to check out a 2017 Charger that had those wheels. In person they look brutal. They somehow work really well. They're large, and look tough and mean as hell. My favorite wheels were those 2016's and now by a long shot my favorite are the 2017's.

My 2016 hellcat pops a ton, did you have the car in track mode for both of them? That keeps the flaps open in the exhaust. However mine pops even in default and eco mode. So I'm not to sure why one would and the other wouldn't.
@davidhoover2446
@davidhoover2446 7 жыл бұрын
With the popping, the only thing I can figure is that they re-tuned the ECU slightly for some reason causing the popping in the exhaust. A guess could be a little more fuel for it to be safer. It's like the Focus RS - they tuned the engine to run a little rich so that the exhaust would sound cool on decel. It's in one of Ford's videos on the development of the Focus RS. Who knows the reason, but it is probably updated ECU tuning.

the 2016 sounds like it has slightly more back pressure in the exhaust which makes a big difference...you get more throttle response and less top end as you increase back pressure and also the back pressure helps hold fuel in the cylinders so it doesnt load up in the exhaust where it makes pops and burns and just sounds awesome...i would put them up on a lift and in sure the difference will be obvious

My guess about the popping being on a 17 and not a 16 is, Dodge took lag/slop out of the throttle. When you lift in the 17 the throttle probably closes faster, resulting in less fuel and air and a colder/slower burning flame which is leaving un-burnt fuel in the headers/exhaust manifold.

No, this is intended different software, still injecting (and igniting) some fuel on the overrun. This popping sound has gotten very popular in the last 1.5 years. Just some examples: A45AMG, GTI Clubsport, Leon Cupra 290, new Audi RS3, and so on...

@TFLcar

+georgebushwack Have you driven the manual? Probably not because if you have you would understand why we went for the automatic.
@ajhayden3307
@ajhayden3307 7 жыл бұрын
guy proulx the manual makes driving the hellcat harder and it would be harder to sell on the market. the major difference is if you would drive on a drag strip the automatic picks up the speed faster and shifts thru the gears faster if you had a manual you would half to manually shift the stick to pick up the speed. but if you had a manual it's funner to drive and more of a classic feel. (also if you get a automatic it looks cooler because they put a leather at the bottom of the automatic stick and a phone holder next to it but it's a extra 2,000 to get the automatic version) hope this clears up what's wrong with a manual.
@ajhayden3307
@ajhayden3307 7 жыл бұрын
guy proulx in a drag strip the 2 seconds matter alot because when you floor the pedal you don't have to worry about manually shifting it. the manual when you shift it, it loses the power a bit before it picks back up with the automatic you don't need to worry about losing the power. yeah many people don't know how to drive a manual because automatics are much better and more reliable if you're inexperience manual driver you can kill you're car faster. with an automatic you don't have to worry that much.
@georgebushwack
@georgebushwack 7 жыл бұрын
I find it hard to believe a chrysler automatic transmitting 700 plus HP could be more reliable than a standard. It won't be inexperienced manual drivers getting this car with the 6 speed.
@ajhayden3307
@ajhayden3307 7 жыл бұрын
georgebushwack it has to have a great automatic transmission for a 707 HP car that is meant for a drag strip. The job of a car's transmission is to make sure that the right amount of power goes to your wheels so you can go to 0-60 in seconds im pretty sure it has a great transmission for a drag car. I know inexperienced manual drivers would get this car. (19 year olds who think they are cool driving a stick shift that use there dads money)

Tamairis Ireland I have noticed that about a LOT of externally beautiful cars Why ? Surely it is as easy to design a pleasing and stylish interior as a dull and boring one ? .
@jimmckeever3678
@jimmckeever3678 7 жыл бұрын
I guess it's a matter of taste. I don't like, nor do I need a car that has a wood grain dash or is loaded with silver trim or cushy padding. Sitting in a Challenger or Charger, you don't feel like your in a casket. There is room and you can stretch out without knocking someone on the passenger seat. Granted, it may look plain, but that is fine with people who own them. And Stef: I've often wondered the same thing. Make every car look like a bad-ass car and people would eat them up. It doesn't cost more to make a good looking car once it's designed. Then again, I have a friend who told me that the best looking car, to him, is a Toyota Camry. Hell, people even like the way the Prius looks. And, look at the new VW's. They look like something from the 90's. Even little old Mrs. Librarian would rather stick the key in a fire up something sporty looking opposed to a VW Passat.
@a.bloke2.0alwayslearning.23
@a.bloke2.0alwayslearning.23 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim McKeever, (with the fine Scottish name). It occurs to me that a varied choice of interiors is well feasible as exampled in the incredibly ugly Ford Ka Mk1, but other than a body kit we can do little to change its exterior profile. Regarding costing the same to make a widely perceived ugly car as a beautiful car. The Jaguar E Type. Gorgeous. The Jaguar XJS. One ugly barge. Even a body kit could not save it. There are accepted conventions on what is considered beautiful and what is seen as ugly, so unless a manufacturer is INTENDING on producing a minimum sales car, there is no logic in offering one. PS. I like black and limited chrome trim interiors, but wood, particularly fake wood, leaves me well cold. .
@jimmckeever3678
@jimmckeever3678 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I can agree with you there. More "Choice" for interior trim would be a great way of personalizing a Dodge. I've noticed that GM offers many more choices, especially with the newer Camaros. I'd love to have a choice of that brownish (Sepia) interior offered on only the SRT and Hellcat, for my Scat Pack and not just black or red and black suede.
@a.bloke2.0alwayslearning.23
@a.bloke2.0alwayslearning.23 7 жыл бұрын
Hi again Jim McKeever I am not sure if you are replying directly to me, but I CAN say that when I was younger my driving style would often end up with brownish car interiors. :-) . .
