Technically, it's a hatchet. It's a really nice one, too, with the polished hickory handle, high carbon 440 stainless steel and full tang construction. I think it's a great way to boost the productivity of Jordan Schlansky. It is said that the barbarians single-handedly finished off the Roman Empire with just wooden shields and axes and I believe it. You see, when kinetic force is focused in such a small surface area, it creates such inertia that it can make the axe head shatter bone and tear through organs. It makes one wonder why butcher knives were ever invented. The axe can shape wood to create structures, or it can gut an animal. It's truly a timeless instrument of human ingenuity and an artistic display of the duality of man, that is, we can create or destroy with extreme efficiency.

@@Michael-zi2qg just because they may (or may not) adhere to a script, doesn't mean that they don't have a premise, or even some sort of rehearsal before actually shooting. it's definitely not "real" and that's not at all how Jordan is in real life. but, I'd say that they've successfully done their job if people are questioning whether it's "real" or not. it's a comedy skit, but shot in a particular fashion that obviously works. there are a few things that give it away, if you know what to look for. but I'm not gonna ruin it for people. bottom line, is that Conan is an AMAZING writer, and master of comedy.
