It is amazing to watch the construction here and how much they are able to accomplish without using construction equipment like compared to the USA.

Hi Brother Ginno, l noticed the construction workers are not wearing safety gear such as safety shoes, hard hats, gloves, and high-visibility clothing. That's how it is in the Philippines and they make minimum wage every day. I don't know what the minimum wage is in your area, normally it’s around 500 pesos a day ($10) in Luzon (Manila) and that's hard labor. They have to earn a living to provide for their family and somehow they manage to support them. I really feel for them.😢
@dazeltv135122 күн бұрын
I rarely see construction workers in our province wearing safety gear. Minimum wage is lower in our province than Manila. If you notice some are wearing T-shirts over their heads; and they put a tarp over the 2nd floor. Because it was a hot day when I filmed them; in the 90s at least. People here have hard lives my brother. That’s why there is not a day that I don’t appreciate my life here.

We plan to build a Sari, Sari store on her property that her farmer parents left. We have almost enough building material purchased. We already expanded her house with extra room for our daughter, furnished with homemade furniture! I love keeping all expenses locals, although we bought office chair. I was amazed at cost, inexpensive! What u think, like back in the US 1920s or 30s?? Real hard labor! For very little pay! Thanks again for the surpurbs video. It's great to watch with the commentator! Great comments, thank my Friend Ginno! Bless ur family always!

You have a good plan my friend. Sari-sari store will keep you busy. Just don’t allow credit. Collecting money from people is stressful. I see sari-sari owners here post a sign; No Credit. Keeping expenses local will save you money here. Yes; hard labor for very little pay unfortunately. Thank you my friend. Stay blessed.

Yes, is pretty primitive, how they do construction over there, in Honduras, it depend who you get as a contractor, for foundation and terraces, they would use a small 5 bag cement mixer, now for the rest of it, they do manual mixing with shovels until is over!!😅
@dazeltv135122 күн бұрын
Most of the construction in our province is all manual labor. Even the hollow blocks have to be carried up to the 2nd floor using the bamboo ramp.

Yes; great addition to my neighbor’s house indeed! I know he will be happy having a bathroom on his 2nd floor. 😁 The garage will also protect his vehicle. I have walked in the past with an umbrella in the rain for my morning walk. But; this morning an umbrella wouldn’t have mattered, it was raining sideways. 😁

It looks like they are building between two house. Is it one house or two houses, it looks like the new floor ties into both houses
@dazeltv135122 күн бұрын
My neighbor is just adding to his house. He will bump into his neighbor's firewall. He will not have access to his neighbor's house; the neighbor's house has a firewall. That's just how it is here when people build homes. They can bump right next to your firewall. The lots in gated subdivisions are small because of the price; lots at gated communities cost more per square meter.

Interesting. How long did it take to get an approval from HOA? Just curious. Thanks G
@dazeltv135111 күн бұрын
Usually a couple of days at the most. We have a property manager at Camella Aklan that takes care of different issues for our HOA. HOA hired the property manager and pays her salary. One thing I noticed is HOA here is not strict at all and don’t have the same power as HOA in the U.S. Many homeowners here ignore the HOA; some don’t even pay their HOA dues. There is no credit agency system in the Philippines; so nowhere to report anyone if they aren’t paying.

You never really know how much a construction project here will cost until you are done. Because you keep buying things for a construction project. Construction materials continue to rise in prices. Labor is the only thing that doesn't go up much in our province. We are saving up money for a tiny house (studio) with a rooftop balcony (cement roof) at Dazel's land in Caticlan. We plan on starting when I collect my Social Security. We didn't want to be in a budget crunch while we build our tiny house. 😄

Ginno, I did not realize everything had to come on a tricycle 😮! See that they have rebar for the front of the balcony, but is there any support for the back? If they put a bathroom in, then they will definitely need extra support! Stay dry. Mark from D.C.
@dazeltv135122 күн бұрын
@@MarkBulgrin It is quite a sight when you see the 20-foot bamboo pole going down the street on a tricycle; specially when they have to make a turn. You usually see a piece of cloth tied at both ends of the long bamboo pole as a warning device. I'm sure like you said they have extra support for the bathroom. I'll try and take a closer look and film next time when it's not raining. They have all kinds of construction material all over right now. Once they clean it up a little, I will film it.
