You know, I'm just realizing that memes are evolving. We went from really diverse and mostly friendly mid to late 2000's memes, to the more selective stuff from the early 2010's, to the crappy and short lived memes from the mid 2010's (a tendency that still keeps going on to this day, but will surely dissapear), to the incredibly abstract memes we have today. If I were to try and predict the future, I'd say we're going to go through another selective period by the early 2020's, and we're going to have less memes than today, and some may be based on memes from the past, adapted to a new era. One good example of this happening now is The lion sleeps tonight, which as it is was a meme back then, yet it was adapted as a successor to Well be right back. ...now that I think about it, applying the theory of evolution to memes is a pretty good topic.

What do think would happen if an ancient curious human found a modern-day frag grenade. nanos are probably the least likely tech wise and genetics will be constrained by ethics, so either AI or robotics will probably be the first thing to come... robotics would be much gentler since it would initially just kill more manufacturing jobs, but AI could kill everyone's

After colonization, natives are still living in the U.S, it’ll be a similar thing, a bunch of Luddite humans living with a bunch of genetically modified and cybernetically enhanced trans and posthumans, but if that scares you just go live on a hab somewhere with some luddites, the future will be the first true utopia as everyone will be able to choose everything because of the low resource scarcity, the problem is getting there

Jason Merrone Definitely not, I’m a transhumanist and love theory crafting around this kind of stuff, I have a hard time believing that the future will be a bad place, at least in the ways it is today. Like diseases won’t really exist (except the nano kind), aging won’t be a thing anymore, Immortality will be commonplace, and you can basically look like whatever you want, all while being more capable than any human today even by just sitting on your couch. Biological immortality is tricky and so maybe the solution is to just upload your mind into a new biological body once your cells start showing stress, or maybe nanotechnology can allow us to reinvigorate our cells at that point, who really knows. If you are interested in this stuff though I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Orion’s Arm Universe Project, if the story isn’t to your liking, then at least the technology pages should pique your interest
