think the term 'consentual' in that context is meant to mean to the extent the victim CAN consent. mainly to separate it from when the victim doesn't consent, which this one hopes we can all agree is markedly worse by every possible metric

That is exactly why statutory rape laws exist, though. It sounds an unsettling sentence, but what it means is that the person (child, in this case) agreed to or wanted to engage in the activity, and was not forced or coerced. Essentially saying, "even though the child agreed to the act, as a child, they cannot consent, and it therefore becomes a form of rape".
@kaylakthulhu862317 күн бұрын
Yeah its definitely sick. Statutory rape only makes sense to me if its a teenager who is the victim, because as a teen you might know about sex and want to have it. unfortunately it might happen with a legal adult, and it become statutory. In what works does a kid under 12 know about sex and want to do it, wtf

Nope, cis dudes make jokes about prison rape and not dropping the soap all the time and it’s horrendously normalized, especially during the 2010s being abused by a woman (or sometimes a gay man) was seen as funny and often included in comedies. It’s a huge part of the reason as to why most men don’t come out about their SA, so while men are probably less likely to be assaulted than a woman or trans/queer person the actual numbers are likely underreported since most men don’t even realize they’ve been abused or think it’s normal.

It is just an ink name but it needs to be talked about cause it’s a symptom of so many horrible things. one of Kat Von D's first cancellations was about "Underage Red" as a lipstick color. Quantum is taking it to a whole new level.

Such weird ink name choices. Like I can’t imagine putting an ink named pus into my skin. Just ew.

JFC, that reference to “keeping it legal” in the tagline is even worse than the name itself. At absolute best it’s extremely cringey, that’s literally the mildest thing I could possibly call it. And so many of those names… even the ones that aren’t necessarily offensive or fricked up… are just… lazy and obvious. Like… seriously?! “Brown Stain”?! “Butt Skin”?! “STD Yellow”?! That’s the best naughty pun name they could come up with?! Really?!

Statutory, iirc, can also mean stuff like drunk, or with someone considered not mentally well enough to do stuff like sign contracts or live without a guardian. Still an extremely serious and bad thing regardless, and yeah the kid situation is the most common useage of the phrase.

If I see this color in an artists drawer ngl I’m running for the hills. Like I’ll eat the loss from the deposit

As a man who’s been raped as a minor: what the fuck? This is a thing!? I’m so glad I never get coloured tattoos or I’d have to ask about every gosh darn purple, I do not want that in my skin

As a CSA survivor, I would be devastated to find out my tattoo artist used an ink on me called statutory grape. Just completely devastated.

The guys who think there's nothing wrong with those names are the same ones saying "your body my choice" here in the US. We're currently living in a dumpster fire

No because I'm for abortion and think this name isn't that ridiculous it's clearly dark spirited and tasteless but nothing to be overly upset about I'm sorry but I don't get it

As a dude, that's the reason why I have very few male friends. I actually like women as humans, you know? And as friends. For some reason, many cishet men seem to hate women. Something is very wrong with those guys.

Some of the names are silly/fun, most of them are either weird or ew or both, but to name one after a sexual crime against MINORS and to think that’s no big deal??? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, given the lack of care certain groups of people have been giving towards sexual predators in politics. 😐

i do see heavy flow funny if it’s from a woman. like i would love to buy an ink (if i was an artist) named that from a woman owned business

Those provocative marketing strategies with their ink names reminds me of our German smoothie brand "True Fruits" that has many controversies surrounding it (one such horrible example were billboards with a black smoothie and the sentence "Rarely makes it across the border" in german .....). I hate that brands get basically free publicity with this bullshit because people get upset about it and want to talk about it - which is absolutely valid but still ... they profit :/

Actually disgusting I can’t believe this would fly even for a second, no one should normalize joking about SA. This is a very weird side comment but where are your axolotls from? I really like them

*On Karen: That is my mother's name and she's in her 60's and does sometimes fit the stereotype. But there are more men acting that way that I see here in the Midwest USA. So "Kevin" is what they are. But the truth is that they are just As§holes!
@sylverscale16 күн бұрын
Kevin was always the name for a very stupid man. Kevina having been made the female version. I would say they're a Richard. Like a real Dick if you will.

Thank you for always being you and speaking out against the absolute fucking creeps within the industry. Little story time: when I was 17 I wanted my tongue pierced… my “uncle” (step dad’s best friend) took me to the place he would get tatted and pierced. The guy he was actually friends with was going to pierce me. He felt me up, put his hand under my t shirt and was just a fucking creep. I did stop him. I was also out as a lesbian at this point and he knew that, off it didn’t stop him. He was also in his late 30s early 40s… fast forward and even the “uncle” is now in prison for yes… that type of abuse. So.

Okay something silly to lighten the mood because bum bags/fanny packs were brought up I used to think that the name difference wasn't from UK/US English, but from whether you wear it facing back or forward from you
