Do you have a recipe for the char sui? Also can I use onion instead of shallot? What is red yeast rice powder? Is there a substitute I can find in the United States? Thx

The bbq pork buns look absolutely scrumptious Stacy! Could you please suggest a substitute for the red yeast rice flour in the filling? Is this one ingredient necessary? For the yeast in the dough, can I use instant yeast? Thank you in advance!
@COOKSTACEYCOOK Жыл бұрын
Red yeast rice is a traditional color ingredient, you can use food color or just leave it out. For the yeast, you could use instant yeast.🙂

Instead of bread flour, can all purpose flour be used as replacement.

My dough is too wet, should I add more flour? Or is it a problem with my yeast?
@COOKSTACEYCOOK9 күн бұрын
You can try adding more flour first.

@@COOKSTACEYCOOKthank you for such a quick response! This is really fun for me, but I am wondering, I have made my char siu but for the filling, can I just substitute char siu sauce and put that into the oil pot with the char siu?
