Met a cool cop few days ago. A friend of mine drove without his muffler. Instead of confiscate the bike, he gave him a small ticket and said put the muffler back in. But my friend doesnt had the screw to do that. The cop said give me a second im looking at the policestation if I can find one. 6:45 FYI - Weaving the bike at low speeds won't heat up the tires faster, this myth needs to die Accelerating/braking will heat the tires quicker because it makes the rubber work harder also with new tire technologies there is no need to "scrub" them, all you need to do with new tires is few heat cycles and that's it The "ride slow on new tires for xx miles" is only to ensure that the heat cycles happen and the slippery chemicals will sweat out

I don't know the ins and outs of the training in the states but I don't think any instructor would recommend weaving like that in traffic. Just riding the bike will get enough heat in the tyres and you generally don't need to worry about heat in the tyres unless you are going to ride hard or do a track day or something.

The "warming up the tires" excuse is weak at best. What it does do however, is if you've just ridden over gravel, or a dusty driveway, or over grass, it will wipe the crap from your tires. Which is what is taught at motorcycle training centres, that people who don't ride see as "swerving all over the road".

@@7leggedspider9 Yep, it's completely different on a track, most of the time they use tyre warmers so the bike leaves the paddock with warm tyres. The weaving they do is to test the grip of the tyre before hitting the corners. It can alspm be used to remove some of the build-up of worn rubber that accumulates on the edges of the tyre. But weaving around a road on a regular bike like this is utterly pointless. The best way to warm up the tyres in these conditions is to simply ride cautiously for a few miles until they warm up naturally, or by accelerating and braking moderately hard (safely) in a straight line.
