Something weird about the Oceanic Museum is that in Ruby/Sapphire, you can find water samples from Kanto and Johto. But in Emerald, mentions of the two regions were removed. Then in ORAS, they now have water samples from all regions as of Gen 6. I wonder why they specifically did that in Emerald. It's such a small change and it's a total opposite of fan service, so why omit mentions of Kanto and Johto at all?

I actually remember from the anime, at the end of the episode, before the group arrives in town, Ash says, "Slateport City Gym, here I come!" Despite there being no gym lol

You don’t actually have to get the Thief TM before battling in the museum. You can become champion and come back and that grunt will still be there lol

In Emerald, Slateport is also the first town you find with a Battle Tent (all the contest ranks was moved to Lilycove). Another new NPC was the woman that give you a Berry Pouch to store Berry Powder earned in the mini-game.

Bro really got the clip of entering the Oceanic Museum without enough money on stream and really wanted to talk about it. But in actuality, I played through Ruby and Emerald on Emulator as a kid so I remember Slateport well. I remember fiddling with contests, catching the SS Tidal between Slateport and Lillicove, trying to figure out what the small white structure was (It was a light house) and trying to figure out what on earth anything in the market even meant.

I played this game tons of times and I'm pretty sure the grunt that gives you thief stays there even after when Team Aqua leaves the building, at least I always got the tm after the grunt battles

I've restarted my play of Omega Ruby once more and it's so astonishing to see the quality of life changes between the older versions and the remake but I use "Quality of Life" a little loosely here as there are differences I don't like between the OG's and the remakes. With the first contest hall in Slateport, in the remakes you can enter contests immediately and Pokéblocks can be made immediately through a sub menu in the Pokéblocks Key Item. I'm sure you'll get to it eventually, maybe even for a short but I'd like to see you talk Aarune and the Secret Bases and your opinion on them. Anyways this was a great video to talk about.

I always loved the beach outside of Slateport. Not only is it good experience but you can also get soda pops for a relatively cheap price and those things are good at this point in the game. I also like what they did in the remakes with making Contests more of a thing you should pay attention to with the Lisia cutscene and a cosplay Pikachu as a reward for partaking in one.

I struggled a lot in this city.I didnt knew where captain stern was and team aqua blocking the path made it even more complicated for me.I was 13 year old when i played it for first time. i can understand that it shouldn’t had been like that but still.I also forgot the sea mauville cause i didnt knew its location .😅

Also I forgot to say this for the thief guy if you don't talk to him and you do all the stuff on the second floor, when you go back he will be standing there by himself and will still give you thief when you talk to him. Idk if he stays after for leave but yeah

Slateport is my favorite place in he region! The beach and its outside market is just such a relaxing atmosphere! The museum is cool and I fell in love with contests from the first time I did one! Also, being able to move between the towns by using the haror is so nice! Especially since I started to dislike the fast travel in games in the past years.

Slateport city is the first location in any Pokémon game that I ever saw or played through. When I was 6 I was vaguely aware of Pokemon as a show and card game but didn’t know of the video games nor did I care for it at all. One day my friend brought Pokemon ruby to my house and he let me play it and I started on the beach in slateport. After battling the trainers on the beach I was absolutely sold on the game. He also happened to be enthralled with one of my Lego figures that day so I offered him one trade it to him for Pokemon ruby and he agreed (best trade in history). Been playing Pokemon ever since.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the floaties in the shack were donuts. I was always mad you could only get Soda Pop from there and not any donuts, and when I got older I realized why. Luckily, Gen 4 satiated my need for pastries with the poffins. Whatever they are.

2:54 I don't think that's true? Unless it is only in emerald that happens. Because I remember my first playthrough of the Gen 3 games, I specifically talked to that grunt because it was the only one left after the others ran out after I beat them.

I'm adoring all this Hoenn love! It's my favorite region and I absolutely love everything about it. The music is incredible, the feeling of the region is amazing, the characters, story, and Pokémon are all wonderful. I would honestly jump for joy if there were to be another Hoenn remake. I know we got one already with ORAS, but I'd want to experience this region again in another form. I feel like a legends game would have so much potential! We could explore the history of the Draconid people and their relationship with Rayquaza, as well witness the sealing of the Regi Trio and maybe finally have a story involving Jirachi. Hoenn is 10/10 a perfect amount of water!

it took me a while to come around to liking gen 3. as a kid i really didnt like it, i think the progression was confusing to me. but as an adult, and with ORAS, ive come to love it. slateport is one of my favorite cities in the entire series.

the oceanic museum part was AMAZING im gonna talk about some of the changes in elite redux since ive been playing it recently the first thing you notice is that brawly is gone, since he's in the line for the oceanic museum behind team aqua fun fact: the team aqua guy that says he shouldve brought a game says that he shouldve brought elite redux! instead of theif, you get a shiny clauncher which can become genuinely overpowered once it evolves you actually have to fight archie which is a horror beyond imagination, especially after fighting the two grunts

all pokemon games are rushed unfinished titles, i wish mossdeep would allow the player main character to fly to space to actually catch deoxys and jirachi but nope game freak couldnt even give us that, all pokemon titles are really unifinshed scames you have to buy the same game, twice same console twice, just to catch them all and you have to show up with a time maching to the the scam mystery events its bullshit!
